quick reminder:

the original core decks were created over 10 years ago with a news corpus, which is why they feature a lot of words you won't encounter unless you read news. actually completing one of the original decks is a waste of time.

this is why i would like to introduce my new japanese learning method. the outline looks like this:
1. learn to code by completing powerpoint-core20k
2. tokenize a bunch of media using mecab, sudachi etc
3. generate frequency lists out of the media you actually want to consume i.e. lns, anime
4. reorder a collection of core decks according to your frequency lists
5. do like the first 1-2k cards
6. go mine actual content instead of retarded core decks

bonus; reformat the frequency into something yomichan can read and use it to see if a word actually occurs in the media you want to consume.

its the navy seals pasta modified to be used against japanese speaking posters, but its only a literal translation and still says things like "I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces" and "As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA", which doesn't make as much sense in a japanese context. I think it would be better if it could be localized, eg replace "navy seals" with a equivalent elite special forces unit within the japanese self defence force, etc. wanna help out? it could be a valuable exercise for a new japanese speaker looking to become more experienced with the language

It”s extremely helpful in remembering and recognising them. Anything you can write, you can read, for muscle memory is a real thing.
