must have cost you a pretty penny. Espgaluda is great. I do have the consoles as well as the crts, but not much of the software. IIDX sims have way more songs since they try to distance themselves from ripped content, so you have a whole community of original stuff and contests.
LR2 is dead aside from buggy, hacked-in mods, but arguably feels better/closer. Beatoraja is being updated somewhat regularly I think.

SDVX has a decent amount of content, but nowhere near the same level, and ripped skins and songs are common.
KSM only really gets updated when there are new mechanics in SDVX. Runs pretty badly but feels decent.
USC is open-source so it's probably the most frequently updated and accurate sim, but its visual design makes it unplayable without a good skin.

As the others have said, it's actually really easy to run data, it's definitely easier than getting beatoraja to work properly. It's somewhat complicated to get TDJ mode for heroic verse running, but since turning on the 120hz patch is litterally just hitting a checkbox and accomplishes pretty much the same thing, you shouldn't really worry about doing it.

It will be announced soon but probably will have to wait a while until it's actually sold. There's Yuancon that makes sdvx controllers but they're usually sold out. Get one, or make friends with someone who has a pad/machine at home if you can. Grinding with event-mode conditions, whether on ITG or BMS, is how virtually all top players in any rhythm game got to the top, or at least made significant progress. It's a shame that in theory all the singles 19s are PFC-able, yet because certain ddr/itg cab owners/top players are too lazy to push themselves on stamina and stick to feel-good tech, they prob won't be perfect combo'd for like a decade at least. the problem with this kind of argument on difficulty is that it starts eating itself when you consider that even if you took the highest-qol modern engines most players of most rhythm game would struggle to get 95-100% scores on boss charts from the earliest versions of their game mathematically

beatmania, pop'n, and DDR all have the legacy concept of "perfect" which is attainable on most charts, but they're still relatively rare outside of the top players. They also all have MAX/all COOL/MFC as actual maximum scores to aim for on lower difficulties, even if they're humanly impossible to attain on the hardest charts. Just like PGREAT, COOL, and MARVELOUS were all good additions to their respective games as the skill level of the players increased, S-CRITICAL is a good addition to SDVX.

I don't like games like PIU or Chunithm as much since attaining max scores on lower difficulties is braindead, while the highest difficulties can't even be FC'd.

IIDX has far more content on pc. You have the official infinitas method, arcade data rips, and a much bigger community that makes a lot original songs. You can find a big pack that has like 2000 songs.
