I did enjoy how the lantern story protagonist got together with the ghoul at the end but the thing is I don't go to this setting for gore and misery, if anything it's the opposite that attracts me to this stuff. Even in some of Penywise's stories there are edgy moments the rusalka story for example but it's also interspersed with relationships you would expect in a monstergirl setting.
