In Japan, is Anime/manga/visual novels/moe/etc. respected and I guess a so called "normal" interest?

Normal people read manga and watch some anime if I remember correctly.

Yes, most reasonably normal people have watched a sizable amount of anime, read an equal amount of manga, and played through a good number of VN's. Moe is considered a cultural symbol in Japan and is ubiquitous in their society. Feel free to talk to any Japanese you come across about these things and they'll gladly reciprocate.

Alright here let me give you guys an example.
Not to stereotype but people in America like Pop, Rap, etc. and that is considered like an "Ok cool whatever" type of interest. Is Anime/manga/VNs/moe like an ok cool whatever interest?

According to 07th Expansion, being into the occult is worse than being into Anime.
Probably wishful thinking on their part.

Also, manga being more normal in Japan instead of anime is pretty weird, because comics are considered geek here and tv cartoons are considered normal.
