Maybe play it again. Almost every scene consists of multiple scenes, each being a unique HCG. Each of these scenes is like 15 minutes long so you end up with a 30-60 minute porn marathon. And the "4" scenes are spaced out like crap so you can have 10 minutes between those marathons. Also the routes are not 10 hours long, more like 6.

The H scenes are fucking long and the rest of the routes drags on forever with barely anything happening. Dull writing and atmosphere and the drama sucks. It looks great and the music is nice, but it's a shit game. I can't even tell if the porn bogs it down more or it's the only part worth a shit as long as you ignore the story and just unlock the porn so you can have mindless faps without the retarded story. Older minori games used to tug on your heartstrings if you had some and could shock you with reveals. All their later games are just bad. Like I said before, they're nukige hiding as nakige. That doesn't mean there's 30 H scenes in 2 hours, just that it's a porn game with too much padding. Compare it to Yuzushit that has a similar amount of scenes per girl and similar length per scene part (unique HCG). I wouldn't call Yuzutrash nukige because there's too much SOL and romance. Newer minori games fail at being serious nakige or utsuge. The SOL is stale and lifeless. The drama even worse than Yuzushit's worst drama. Minori games just drag on until you hit yet another 1 hour porn scene with squelching noises and huhi hihu ochinchin ikuuu haaaaa shit. Fuck minori games aside from their classics. I'll always have a happy smile knowing they went away and won't make more kusoge.

Finished Noa's route and overall, I was pretty much let down. It's a shame because the start of the empire's route was pretty fun i.e the journey towards the imperial capital and the episode with the bandits. It just went downhill after they got to the capital and that fucking school. Even the battles with the Tenma at the end wasn't really that engaging either. Other things that urked me a bit were the unavoidable sex scenes, granted one of them was technically prior to Noa's route but the Pantera sex scene without any choice was pretty lame on the note of Pantera she goes from be this calculated villainess who's resolved to never be used again and to be the one who uses others, but then she falls in love with Shaon because he fucked her silly whilst under a hypnotic perfume? It's just all over the place. Don't get me started on her line about "If only we had met under different circumstances" shit. Last thing that really got me was that after the big fight in the end it's a very brief explanation of how everything is all good now and quickly transitions into a h-scene where Shaon duplicates himself using a drug and double teams Noa. It's not my thing sure but then it immediately transitions to them getting married. There's very little ichaicha throughout the route and that left me disappointed.

Here's hoping that the other two routes are better and the enforced playing order actually had a reason.

I just finished it, and I have pretty much the same thoughts.

My problems with it are as follows;
>Shaon is boring, and really feels like a self-insert. I hope that changes in the next arc.
>The writing in general - it's shallow, confused, and wastes too much time on meaningless things, while never setting aside the time to develop its characters. As a result, the characters feel like hollow, one-dimensional archetypes. The potential is there, but it's only ever hinged at, and never realized. Anton is ironically the most developed character in the game, but is almost never used. Furthermore, the whole route reads like one of the most generic fantasy stories I've ever seen, and it never does anything interesting with its setting. I particularly hate that the route just ends with "and then they all became friends and MC married Noa". I dislike that Kurone and Erin are also, in that route, like Noa in many ways. I had wanted three totally different personalities, but they came off as quite generic. Which I hope turns out to not be true in their arcs. I really dislike that Kurone is portrayed as "just another little girl, but with a hint of edge". Erin is just there lmao. Oh yeah, and did I mention the pacing is terrible? Who the fuck wrote this?
>The fucking abuse of Min's Tenken. It just loses its luster since it gets used all the time, and then it just ends up being lame. The first time it was used against Erin's squad was cool, but then, everything before the Imperial capital was muuuuuuuuuuch better than what came after. It's a dull power, and Shaon never actually does anything without it, outside of "muh healing". Did I mention that Shaon is a shit character?
>The writing, again, lacks focus. I could rant all day about the writing, but one thing that's obvious is that the writer has no idea on how to focus on the important, juicy parts of a story. I don't expect masterful writing from a VN, but there's only so many times you can beat me over the head with "muh racism bad", and then never actually go anywhere with it, rendering the whole thing pointless. Unless you seriously call "we should try to get along with the demons" a resolution to that. The themes are all over the place.

Yes. I can't remember much from the first two games but it feels like there was a big step up in terms of CG and music quality. The writing is pretty decent too. It feels like they're treating the story with more respect and less as jerk off material.

Fumiya being way different.
First case being solved because Masaki happens to see a photo.
Masaki's problems and seeing the psychologist being completely pointless.
Having to slog through Masaki/Yukari (forced as hell) and Uozumi/Kyouko (somehow not even resolved after the timeskip) scenes.
The characters from 虚 being mostly irrelevant (I guess we're pretending Kohane never existed).
Reiji's daughter happening to be involved in a case that conveniently leads to her being found.
Naori leaving the child with a random couple.
Naori only showing up at the end with no interesting information.
Literal whos dying everywhere and important characters being safe for the most part.

There's probably more I'm forgetting.

Eh, that was plausible since they didn't have a photo of the 'real' Sei to compare with nor any fingerprints or other records. I can suspend my disbelief on this one.

How much do psychiatrists actually do irl? She seemed believable to me, she was giving him nudges in the right direction and if you go to the right places in the map section you see more interactions such as the one where Masaki talks to her about his conflicted feelings about Sei's death.

Masaki/Yukari didn't feel forced, if anything it dragged on a bit too much. Uozumi/Kyouko was kind of weird as well. Maybe in avoiding cheap h-scenes, they're leaning too much into the romantic angle instead.

Mostly referring to the Touko paranoia thing. It didn't seem close to this level in the previous games.

Even if it's plausible I think it's still bad for a mystery game to solve a case like this. And it's very convenient for the plot that Masaki didn't take part in this case from the beginning. A case where he knew the supposed victim and where his experience could come in handy.

The game uses every opportunity to put them together and when they are together it's the good old thing where other characters wonder if they're dating, and they make some stupid reaction implying disbelief when they say no. I think the 2nd game had that too, at least at the end.

If you mean Kohane, it's Yukari best friend from the second game. Some of the other characters showed up in the Grand End. Masaki's sister Karen is on death row, but could probably have been useful if you're going to explore his psychological issues.

The funny thing is, because JP programming and stuff, people shy away from higher res, because they want to support low res. Yuzusoft first went to 1080p with having art for 720p included.
