Maji de watashi ni koi shinasai looks pretty good but then I saw it sells for over 100 dollars...

Are most VNs that expensive? How many hours will I get out of one for a full 100% clear?

This is completely relative on the VN. Some could be 20 hours to 100% and cost 80$ and some could be 100 hours to 100% and cost 80$. It also, of course depends on your reading speed.
