You can learn to lucid dream if you want to brute force it. I've only succeeded a small handful of times and didn't think of making things touhou flavored, usually lost focus after a while. It isn't too hard if you stick with the techniques though ( I usually forget and stop bothering with them which is why I dont get lucid often).

Get into the habit of checking how your hands look, think about how characters look whenever you read something - not what they say/mean but the literal way the characters/letters you're reading appear. Dreams usually fuck those up, so if you check them in a dream then you might become conscious for a bit.
