i first ordered tewi mid september, then cirno in october, and i got them both today on the 4th of march. I could have gotten tewi a month earlier, but i chose to wait for cirno to ship as well so i wasn't raped twice for shipping. WRE held tewi longer than they advertise, so +1 to them
seriously though, if you're planning to buy fumo in the upcoming sale, be prepared to pay out the ass for shipping, unless you're ok with your fumo being on a ship for 3 months maybe arriving, maybe drenched in sea water

Last time was ¥12,600 / $165. The box has been collected for recycling but it would have been in the order of 45 x 35 x 30cm or something like that - more than twice the volume and probably about 25% bigger than it needed to be.

The obvious answer is the ones you want most. Alternatively you could pick the rarest ones, just in case Gift doesn't do a sale for them for the foreseeable future. For example Satori and Koishi go on sale pretty much every year, so you could go for them in a later sale.

If you're using a forwarder you technically don't need the money until they ship. That can give you some time to get some money.

As far as I'm aware they work on a first come first served basis, so if you've pre-ordered early you have a good chance of getting what you want. In the last sale Awoo took over 20 minutes before she sold out, so if proxies still work at 18:00 they've got plenty of time to order a new fumo. White Rabbit Express works till 19:00 according to their own site and I think they understand the importance of ordering fast from the Gift shop so I wouldn't worry too much about their service as long as you order early.

If you check the site you can see that Mokou has been sold every other year, so it could be worse than 6 months if that trend continues. However Gift has sold a lot more fumos last year so if they're ramping up their sales she's probably gonna get a sale this year. Do keep in mind though that even if she's on sale this year it will probably take more than 6 months before you'll have her if you include the time between pre-order and release. So if paying 3600 yen more is worth getting her right now then that should make your choice obvious, assuming the seller is trustworthy of course.

I don't think Gift will put the nendoroid plushes on sale anymore since it's been rougly 8 years, so you'll have to search on the aftermarket. I can find one on rakuten and one on zenmarket's own shopping platform, so I don't think it's too rare.

As the other anon mentioned there are a few useful links in the OP for places to buy second hand like surugaya, solaris, amazon.co.jp, mandarake, yahoo auction japan (using buyee) and Rakuten. Any site that is mainly for Japanese people gives the best result when you search on them in Japanese. So if you want a Cirno I'd recommend something like '東方ぬいぐるみチルノ' as a search. If i use that in the abovementioned sites then I can find multiple Cirno ver 1.0's. By the way if you have trouble navigating Japanese sites you can use Chrome's translate page tool to make your life easier. Good luck anon.

Try searching for 'ねんどろいどぷらすチルノ' on Rakuten and Zenmarket's ZenPlus. I haven't used ZenPlus myself so I can't vouch for that particular service, but if you do plan to use it I'd recommend requesting photos once it arrives in your Zenmarket warehouse, just to make sure.

its not even close. the thing is, you need to buy in bulk to make it worth it.

For about ~150 dollars, I can get 2 fumos and fast shipping or 3 fumos and slow as balls (~2 months) shipping and that 40 dollar shipping charge could fit like 9 fumos so it's deffo the best bang for your buck bar living in Japan yourself.

Keep in mind that there are several reasons other than the price which makes buying from Gift a better deal. For one Gift puts several fumos on sale at once, making bulk buying a lot easier and cheaper. You also don't have to worry about bootlegs, as Gift is the manufacturer. Furthermore Gift can sell new fumos or fumos that are quite rare, which makes getting specific fumos easier than waiting for an ebay listing. If you're planning on getting more than one I would recommend setting up a proxy/forwarder so you have access to Gift's online shop.

Zenmarket likes to be inconsistent about early preorders, so this time they said to wait until 10 days before the product goes live to send in an order. They're pretty good about getting them ordered on time, but I'd suggest breaking up fumo lots if you buy a bunch. If one goes out of stock when they check, they cancel the whole lot. Though most people here would rather go with forwarders to get past that

I wouldn't really recommend doing that as Gift does not accept cancellations meaning that if both go through you're stuck with both. Also I'm not sure how quickly both Zenmarket and Whiterabbit update your status, so cancelling last second before the other buys might be hard in this case. If I were you I'd just stick with the one you trust the most, unless you don't mind doubles. Or if you really want to be sure order them yourself using a forwarder.
