Assuming the remake is what it says it is on the website, i.e. identical to the 1999 Windows version aside from "adjustments to match modern ethical standards," then technically there's sort of two whores but I assume you mean Kaori. The ones I remember from the 1999 version are the aforementioned Kaori ending and
Natsuko -- this one is surprisingly similar to the original, even with the same illustration, just her being your girlfriend and she's tied herself up in a bow. It stood out to me because Natsuko was the one character that didn't get changed for the worse in the 1999 version, and then even her ending was the same.
Misa -- Don't remember the details but there's some sort of foreshadowing for Doukyuusei 2
Mako (school nurse/doctor) -- she promises to take care of you even when you can't find a job and tells you not to worry about it.
Reiko -- she divorces her husband and remarries you. Ending is on your deathbed when you're like 90 years old, thanking her for making you happy and then you die

Even though I hate what they did to many of the main scenes in the 1999 version, I remember not having any problem with the epilogues. The original game's epilogues are so simple and short there's not really anything there to ruin; they were just a footnote + bonus illustration after the game was over. The PC Engine/Saturn port also has its own unique epilogues.

I only played the Saturn version and the first Windows port which is based on the Saturn version. I mean you can create a top shelf bishoujo in your head but if you can't express that charm and cuteness through interactions your character will be bad. Being good at crafting character interactions can imply other abilities like dialogue writing skills, scene construction skills, wringing out as much as possible from a scene to indicate character's feelings, motivations, relationship etc etc

Kind of a funny story there.
The original 1992 DOS game didn't have any characters under 18. Not in the 21st century eroge sense of a generic disclaimer, but rather the student characters were all legitimately in the latter half of their last year, looking toward graduation and their future. All the characters that are in the manual have ages listed, adults included, e.g. Mako the school nurse is 23, Yoshiko-sensei is 25, etc.
Then, in the 1999 rewrite version, they didn't list ages for anyone in the manual...and made Kurumi call you "senpai," implying she's a year younger.

Supposedly in Doukyuusei's early development they had in fact planned Kurumi as being a year younger but eventually decided to make her the same age as the other student characters. And so her story naturally didn't wind up having anything to do with being left behind after the others graduate.

It was an odd story with the MC acting not at all interested in her romantically, so he didn't think of them as dates, but players saw it as her keeping the MC as a backup boyfriend.

I don't dislike Tamaki as a person but that route didn't deliver what I enjoy in Kakyuusei: the feeling of intentionally wooing and winning over a girl. Instead, the MC just hangs out with her as a friend (and if you try to kiss her and such from the after-date command interface, he refuses the command) and then one day BAM she decides she's in love with you on her own and switches over to you from the other guy.
It's a shame because it could have been a fun netori route if the MC was impassioned to steal her away on purpose (like how he was gung-ho about winning over Nanase).

I played the first game for the revenge against cheating girlfriend, feels bummed in the end because the girlfriend doesn't suffer enough, MC kind of wishy washy about the revenge, and both the endings are meh at best.

i like those games as well but they weren't hugely successful hits like Doukyuusei and YU-NO. they went from being one of the titans of the eroge industry to being pretty obscure and targeting a specific niche.

and yeah, i do buy that hiruta and doten meikai are the same person (it is a real big coincidence that the last games hiruta wrote under his name are extremely similar to doten meikai's style). Though I have always wondered whether Alicesoft would have undergone a similar fate as Elf had TADA left the company earlier on
