It's like the Bleach amongst the VNs. That's not to say it's bad, per se, it just follows the same formula: hero-that-leaves-to-be-desired attains magical powers (in the form of this genderswapped legendary king) and proceeds to kick ass and take names. Focus mainly on the battles and secondarily on the pairings, mix in (mostly) European/western mythology and you have a hit.

First of all it's good, the plot is not so complicated but still manages to have a certain depth.
Also it's linked to other games, such as Tsukihime or Kagetsu Tohya, which makes it somewhat more exciting to read.
Finally there enough material that you might just find out something new at every discussion, small details which you didn't notice.
Also remember that unlike Ever17 this game had an anime, and porn is still a strong attraction.
