There are a few ways to organise dates. She can ask you, you can ask her, and you can go in skip mode or realtime mode.

I usually grind stats in skip mode and ask her out in realtime mode.

So last night I was in skip mode with mai Manaka. Went on two dates, no kisses. I was raging. So my plan: I unlocked the aquarium and set that as the primary location, with the second ("it's too early to go home now, but if you choose somewhere far I'll complain") place planned as the waterfront park thing.

OK. We go. No kisses at the aquarium. We go to the waterfront. No kisses there either. I'm pretty frustrated now. Then we get on the train and go home. Pretty soon we're in front of her house. She says bye, I say bye. She starts off... but then she turns around. "I forgot something..." ("Wasuremono...")

With regards to place names, ALWAYS leave them untranslated. So to use your examples, Yamanote Zoo and Rinkai Station.

Lots of places in Japan are named quite literally, but don't get translated because they are the place names, not descriptors of the places.

I'm not sure how to translate Rinko's lines. An aspect of her character is that she speaks in third person, but Japanese obviously uses pronouns far less than we do. So if I see a line like:

わかってるって。

Should it be "I know." Or "Rinko knows."?

Writing Rinko all the time in place for pronouns sounds a bit weird, but at the same time it's part of her character (when you first meet her she doesn't speak like that around you). So I'm not really sure which way is best.

There are many season-related events, so I assume this game can be played for one full year before you got bored of it (or Konami releases an extension/sequel).

If it turns out the fan modding community develops pretty well, addition to scripts, clothes, hair, etc via patches can increase the time limit.

Real time mode is only available if you are dating a girl.

If you are then when you start your save file you will have a choice to enter either mode.

If you want to change modes during play hit the icon next to the save button and select the last option. Do not change to real time mode if you have a date set up in skip mode. Your date will be lost when you enter skip mode again.
