Fate is not worth it, don't bother with that disaster of a franchise. If you wanna read the "good Type Moon" stuff just read Tsuki and Kagetsu. They are both short with Tsuki and KT combined lasting like 45 hours or even less.
Its up to you with what 07th project you want to start with. I think its always better to start from the beginning and read Higu but reading Umi first is also okay.

The more realistic scenes in Umineko have a Dostoyevskyan flavor to me, Ryukishi likes realistic portrayals of human suffering and the psychology of crime. I know a guy with actual DID, we've been friends for a decade. He thinks he was born with it, but neither he nor his male alter realized they had a problem. They apparently attributed the other's actions to themselves until they were like 7 and noticed that not everyone experience those strange breaks in consciousness. Then they met each other several times while trying to sleep (in the "internal world", as he calls it) and they had a really fucked up relationship with suicide attempts and other crazy shit. They made up years later after finding more people in their subconscious (a few were there from the start, or so they claim, and others are born from trauma because his brain was already contidioned to produce split personalties).

He's nowhere near a tranny, he's actually pretty disconnected from all the insane internet drama and is a pretty cool guy with a passion for videogames in particular. His alters are ok too, but I don't know them that well. His other male alter is a bit of a brash dick but he doesn't meant it. The girls are generally ok but only two of them are comfortable coming out, the rest apparently like staying in his head all day.

He has 7 personalities in total (one of the girls had some sort of fight with the dick alter last year and disappeared for several months, but she came back at some point). I'm not giving out any names, although neither of them frequent these places or are very active on the internet at all. He's a pretty functional person now, and his alters are in relative harmony, but they have to pretend to be one and the same no matter who is dominant, mostly at work and in social situations.

The issue is that Rika is a very independent person with a dismissive-avoidant attachment pattern, while Satoko is a heavily codependent person with an anxious-preoccupied attachment style. These sorts of relationships always end in drama because the people involved have a completely different perspective on how friendships should work.

Basically, an independent person like Rika thinks that in the end everybody can and should fend for themselves. Rika's basic assumption is that if somebody really needs support they will ask for it, and that the main value in life comes from experiences rather than relationships.

I started getting into 7th Expansion stuff 2 weeks ago through Umineko, and I've been a Fate fan for +7 years now. I haven't even finished Umineko yet (currently in the middle of episode 5) but I strongly recommend it instead of anything Fate. Fate/Stay Night is chuunishit similar to a shonen manga. It's a well done chuuni shonen but it's still a chuuni shonen. The Fate entries worth reading are Zero and Extra but this is a very hot take among the TM fanbase. I have yet to read Tsukihime but I expect it to be the same chuunishit as Fate (maybe without the shonen aspect), especially since nowadays Nasu is outright embarassed of it.

People are still expecting mostly mundane explanations in Gou outside of the time loop, but what if this time that's not the case at all?

In the original Higurashi, there was a message about how humans shouldn't approach the world of gods, with Rei then outright saying Rika and Hanyuu would accept the next time Rika died and Rika would live as a human.

Meanwhile, Gou has Rika just continuing to loop again and whining about how she fears even if she wins it will never stop, Hanyuu only reassures her that her physical body doesn't matter and she just needs to keep her mind going. She tells her to live and fight as a looper and also gave power to Rika, who now seemingly loops by herself and has obtained some magical sword shard.

In episode 18, Hinamizawa syndrome has been said to be tied to Hanyuu's feelings rather than being just a physical disease like before (although there was always the oddity of infected hearing her).

So, what if Satoko isn't only looping, but she also has other magical stuff? Maybe she can whisper suggestions on people with L5 like how Hanyuu could haunt them, only she is actually weaponizing that.

The reason the tales end with nobody solving the epitaph is because Yasu assumed that there would be no incident if the siblings did solve it. Also, she didn't exactly have a good opinion of them, so she thought they would never cooperate and wrote them as such. But in reality Yasu didn't give them enough credit. There's really no reason why they would be that accurate. They know where she went, they know that she hated being there, they know her relationship with the head of the Ushiromiya Group was strained, and the rest is kind of superfluous. We can pretty accurately assume from how EP7 is written that Ikukuro didn't see her as all that sympathetic a character despite that bullying scenario, while Tohya did nothing but feel sorry for her, to the point where we end up with a story that balances those two viewpoints on Ange and what she was going through in EP8. EP3 and EP4 meanwhile are very pro Ange which suggests less of Ikukuro's own perspective and more of how Tohya was remembering her being factored into the writing.
