How do you differentiate yourself as a weeaboo in ways other than an 'anime fan? Pretend I told someone I enjoy Japanese culture and they say 'oh you like anime then?'. While the answer would usually be yes, every normalfag seems to watch anime and it's only a small part of my interest in Japanese culture.

Then you just tell them there’s only a few shows you like and that there are other aspects of the culture that interest you more. They ask which ones and then you can have a conversation.

I just say that I hate animes and despise the so called otakus. Then I proceed to say that the only japanese media that I consume are tokusatsu, jpop (listing idol group names so people don't think that by jop I mean anime openings like every normalfag) and obscure japanese shmups

I would tell them about Japanese culture and history but I would butcher it and part of my interests comes from consuming Japanese media.
Personally, I would not care, because I do like anime, because it's part of or expresses Japanese culture.

I am fluent in Japanese and was obsessed with touhou and anime and all sorts of weeb bullshit but I would never tell anyone that unless they first revealed their power level. If you reveal that to the wrong person you could socially fuck yourself.
