MOF stage 4

Anyone else think this is the hardest Touhou level ever?
I'll have full lives and excellent faith points until now and then lose all of them by the end..
Any general tips for this stage (especially those tiny pink/black star things. goddamn it)

I think so too. The rest stages and bosses were pretty easy in Normal modo.

Just pack some lives early stages and your set.

Not even close.. I rarely die once and can get all the borders right. the only remotely challenging spot is right after Lilly. I personally find this way harder, I'm not even thinking about faith when I get to this point.

Stream the one part with fairies that pump out tons of opaque white orbs. For the walls of small white bullets, get off to one side and stay there as long as possible. Kill the big fairies that pump out random stars as quickly as possible unless you're going for score, 'cause there's that one that will drop your faith by like 20,000 if you kill it right when it spawns. Don't sit near the bottom on Aya's spell card with randomized falling blue bullets, 'cause you'll get avalanched. Get off to one side and pray for her survival card, as it's as much luck as skill. On her last card, only dodge through the white bullets or the arrows at once, not both.
When in doubt, bomb.

Kill the fairies asap. Other than that, it's pure dodging skill, no trick involved.

this helps thanks. I always try to pick up the items first and then move on to the next one with the star-spraying ones.. probably a bad idea. So for Aya's first card, just look for holes and try to get through them when I see them? This one kinda reminds me of the Mokou spellcard, except a lot more random. Aya's other spellcards are easy enough, just gotta work on timing the last one.

If you mean the avalanche one, you start out about halfway up the screen for each wave and move down along with the wave, kinda like Reisen's Visionary Tuning, whenever there isn't an opening.

I'd have to say that the worst Stage 4's are from IN and SA. For IN, there's a lot of bullet spam during the actual stage, and Reimu/Marisa are pretty hard bosses themselves.

In SA, Orin's fast danmaku can be a bother, but the real difficulty comes from Satori. Especially when you're using Yukari, because then the last spellcard is a ridiculous EX-level card from Shoot the Bullet. Pic related.

Seriously? That last card is a joke compared to Double Black Death Butterfly. I've been playing SA since released and I can count on 2 hands how many times I captured that. ;_;
