Gotta say I do like a solid upbeat melody every so often even with my previous mention of preferred more "complex" stuff, it's basically a palate cleanser, and it's not like I'm in the mood for the same shit all the time so, you know, why not.

Also, I'm pretty sure everybody else in here is aware that some talents are more suited for more complex stuff than others. ぺこらchan and ころねchan for example, judging by their singles and covers, are absolutely more suited for up-beat songs because their voices are naturally cheerful but less capable of pulling complex tones off. And that's not to say they're bad singers. I'd say るしあ is of equivalent talent, but she can pull off those sultry low notes much better, seen here:
