You know what? I've passed through different stages of love for Pekora in the past 6 months:
- First stage: the cute and funny rabbit character who laughs in a unique way
- Second stage: the cute and thoughtful vtuber who not only screams a lot, but also rants about her life style, her goals and worries

I don't think having a different holo as your favorite first is bad at all. Korosan was almost my entry into hololive and she was naturally my favorite for a bit because of that. Your different stages line up pretty much exactly with mine. My "sin" in this regard is that I didn't really get into that last stage until December despite her being my favorite since late June. Before then I just made a best effort to watch her streams or even worse, skipped streams if I thought I might play the game later or something. I missed a lot of streams for no good reason. Nowadays I have an unreasonable sleep schedule where I wake up at 1am in case she does an early stream every day except the weekends. My other sin in this regard is that unlike you I often think about that next step and how the only two possibilities are she moves on or I do, both of which I hate the thought of. And my final, sinniest sin of all: I still haven't watched the archives I have past like an hour and a half of DQV.

I've been slacking hard on my Japanese. She probably got scared when she came back the next day and found the rumors about her family and how everyone was freaking out. It makes sense that she decided to talk to us even though she wasn't emotionally stable to do it.
But she also underestimated the impact of her absence... well if she didn't knew how loved she was before she definitely knows now. She probably thought that she was just a form of entertainment for most of her audience. But even the people that don't watch her very often got worried. Not as worried as us, but they do care about her.

I loved the design, but figured a boring girl got it upon checking her debut (this was months after she debuted, I guess I AM a fucking idiot)
Loved the talk shit-get hit comedy routine of the prankster rabbit and how everything semed to collude to make the craziest things to happen during her streams, I was a devoted sheepfag at the time though, pekora was just a must watch because she was so fun
The things that made me love her over the course of 2020:
The childish enthusiasm whenever she's exposed to something cool (like beating MGS and the next week being all about Snake, ARK? Snake. SMB? Snake)
How caring she is about characters and people she likes, be it Yakuza/MGS characters, her monsters in Monster Rancher, or dinos in ARK
How with her toxic background was, she trusted us with more and more of her personal life over time, which made her feel much closer and like she genuinely likes fans
And finally, her self improvement. From how nervous she was about publishing a solo cover and how bad she is with people she's not familiar with to taking this idol thing seriously and starting collabs. Admirable
Also her voice might be fucked when it comes to singing, but she can sing well and when the song suits her, it's downright magical. There was a wonderful period in 2020 where she did a lot of member and non-member singing streams in a short time and her bgm changed to a very relaxing one that completely changed the mood of her streams for me.
It took me a year to realize she's the only one I never get tired of as others come and go, I've been a fool
