why don't you just play the games and see for yourself? it's not like they are VN which require a lot of time investment, you can start playing right away. They are just well-constructed games, very challenging shooters with solid mechanics, incredibly intricate patterns, and a really involved backstory with a huge cast of characters. The music is also excellent and what's more it was all put together by just one man. The fandom has made touhou into a whole genre by itself practically and has given great depth to the universe. The fan remixes are so numerous and span all genres so it is possible just to listen to nothing but touhou music and lose yourself in it. Why don't you start reading up on touhou wiki or just load up IN and fucking enjoy.
