So I see our janitor isn't a Reisen fan, no matter the thread was a tumor anyways. but I was about to make a point.

I really hate most of the touhou fannon, they take these unique characters freely open to interpretation and they turn them into stupid anime rejects with personalitys and motivations you've seen a hundred times before and can fully flesh out on the back of a bus ticket.

Take this poor bunny here, she is refugee from a war between human (that's you and me humans) and a race of highly advanced creatures we can only assume from appearance are a subspecies of human living in secret on the moon.

... and the most people think of her is useless bunny only good for sex appeal.

You seeing a problem here? So now I'm asking you what do think a Touhou's personality is? or their history, or how they like their eggs cooked whatever.

I haven't thought *too* too much about it, but I'll just take the opportunity point out Kagekichiro's Alice as the best fanon interpretation I've seen. She's actually skillful and emotionally balanced!

In my mind Reisen is an experienced field agent character (think Type Moon's Canaan), cold efficient and ruthless on the battle field. If prompted by Eirin or Kaguya she could assassinate people in the village she's spoken to without batting an eye. Snipe a target from a kilometer with nothing but her thumb and index finger shaped like a gun and a barely audible "bang" she says to herself. Following the trajectory with her red eyes phasing the bullet in mid flight through obstacles where need be and watching with cold disassociation as the bullet hits it's target. She returns without letting tewi or any of the civilian rabbits know that she just gunned down a mother (who was getting to noisy about eintei) in front of her children and husband from three kilometer away.

Though she's cold and emotionless on the battle field she's still feels emotion, she wakes up in the night sweating, after seeing the faces of the men and rabbits she's killed. She agonizes at how she abandoned her comrades in the midst of battle. She's not amoral, she knows killing is wrong but she has been drilled and trained to not factor emotions into her missions.

Not only can she use her finger as a high caliber sniping round she can use other ammo types and even guns, primitive man made firearms like the M107 Barret anti-material rifle, or the some what usable kappa guns like Mark II “widower“, and of course her own weapons and mechs produced on her planet.

Though she's an outcast from the moon society she's waiting and biding her time. There is political tension over in the moon, with various shadow organizations amassing powers to topple the hime sisters and steal the throne from right under them, when that time comes the fiercely loyal Reisen would be there to carve a path of blood amongst the traitors.

It's silly of OP to feel angry when people portray them as simpler characters, but that doesn't mean no one should ever attempt to weave a more complex tale about them.
