I wouldn't call myself an anti but I dislike current Mori exactly because I am in it mostly for the art side of things.
For me Mori peaked at the first concert and subsequent remix party. I was cautiously optimistic about her before the debuts due to the roommate stuff and I liked her content in September-October back when she was doing decent zatsudan, Japanese streams, drawing streams and many collabs. It was fun even if scuffed at times and I was looking forward to her going full time, gaining more experience and confidence and moving to the new apartment where she would be able to do regular utawaku streams. Then she dropped Japanese and drawing streams, zatsudan grew mostly stale, collabs became weekly at best, and aside for that one week in November there still weren't that many utawaku. What I've gotten instead was dude memes lmao, lazy gachikoi milking and fan culture dominated by a clique of insufferable attention whores. Whiplash wasn't nice. Feels like an anime that completely dropped the ball in the second cour but you can't stop watching because you have already seen the first half and don't hate it enough to drop.
I realize that it's nobody's fault and it's just me being autistic and conservative so I don't usually shitpost about it, but there are people who are just genuinely disappointed in her content and it's not because of the latest overexaggerated drama on /hlgg/. I still pay attention to the music but I might start skipping on that too if this month's song is an ironic piece with no redeeming qualities. Guess I'll just continue watching music oriented JPs while mostly ignoring EN.

Her voice has this awkward timbre, which makes it take up too much space on a track. It by default disqualifies her from being good on most instrumentals, mixing a voice like hers is a nightmare. Usually you leave part of the instrumental somewhat empty for the MC to fill it. This is part of why early hip-hop was often very stripped down and relatively simple. Mixing vocals with instrumentals that basically take up the entire dynamic range like in the first track in >>32521960 is really not easy and you can definitely hear that something's off. I think it's that she tries to slip over the instrumental, but doesn't quite "fit" into the frequency range she's going for and there's something off about the mix itself. Also that kick drum has way too much topend and midrange for a track with vocals.
I feel like she'd get a lot of benefit out of seeing a better mixing and mastering house and maybe opting for productions that are less demanding of her voice to fit a certain range, because I don't think she can do it. She sounds much better around her actual speaking range.

All of these are purely technical issues that can be fixed.

I agree that Hololive isn't a good fit for her talents, but saying "She's wasted on Hololive" is a bit much, Hololive is also wasted on her. Live Again is great, I wish she did most of her song in this style, it's where she shines the most I think. She's not good at being a "classic" aggressive/egotripping rapper.

There's some interesting rhymes in there - especially the slant rhymes. I like the alliteration, wordplay, and assonance, and definitely I appreciate that things stay on topic without random bars thrown in about getting money and bitches or whatever the fuck these degenerates never shut up about. Speaking of which, this gets big points for having a point. I made the mistake once in a social science class of saying "People who can't afford to have children shouldn't have children" and everyone looked at me like I'd just advocated for mass sterilization.
But back to the song, the internal rhyme really brings out the flow even though some of the rhymes are obvious. I'm sure that in 97 it still felt fresh, and the fact that when you're telling a story, a lot can be forgiven. It's hard to put into words, but when the lyrics read like a narrative it sounds natural and conversational; then you can sometimes forget you're listening to a song.
But all that being said, I'm still more impressed by Calli's stuff. She raps faster, and her tracks are loaded out the ass with rhymes that pop up unexpectedly instead of sounding formulaic. Then again, I'm a poetry autist, and internal rhyme makes my dick hard.
In the end though, I do wish Calli would write something without having to sound like Eminem, Tech N9ne, or some other Midwest rapper on trucker speed. It's less fun to listen to when I don't have time to take in the lyrics.
