I don't necessarily think she was a ticking time bomb. Her family situation was bad, but she was happy to be doing work involving singing, the holos, and helping out with the money situation for her family. While she wouldn't be getting as much personal attention related to her issues, and she wouldn't be talking about them openly, I really think the improvement in her home life would have been a huge help. You saw the way she improved mentally once she had the fridge and cooking plate and so could eat without having to wait for her dad to not be around. I seem to recall her saying that bringing money in helped ease the situation with her parents too. Anyway I figure if she had been successful as a holo then she would've naturally improved, saved up money, and gotten free of them. I really do think the best thing for her right now is to escape that hell hole. The money thing with her mom was a turning point, not that she hadn't stood by and watched things get this bad in the first place. Aloe is at risk just being there, and being free of the constant negativity, "oppression" and reminders of everything that's gone wrong would likely do wonders for her. Having her own place is a step forward, a step towards moving on and it's something she herself has control over. Plus Yuri Roommate is someone she's confided in about her home life and presumably someone who actually cares; a friend.
