You have been given privileged access to Gensokyo, but there are a few conditions.

1. At the time of transfer, you must accept to being gender-bended as a woman or a little girl. If you refuse you will become a resident in the human village, living your life in complete boredom (or in danger of being eaten by youkai). This rule won't apply if you are already a woman or a little girl.
2. If you are currently powerless, you can choose something from the deepest recesses of your imagination, but in return you will sacrifice all but one memory from your original life. Those sacrificed memories are then replaced by a fictional personal history, that you hold dear as if they are the truth (Which actually never happened at all). As a requirement, if you're male, you must accept condition one.
3. Upon acceptance of condition #2, you may choose to become a youkai (you may retain your humanity), and you are eligible to one resident whom you may have a strong relationship with. That resident may not know you from the beginning, but your relationship with that chosen resident will develop much faster and your bonds are stronger if established.

4. If you chose to become youkai (as per condition #3) you are required to consume a large mammal (or something with a meat of a large mammal) per two weeks. Eating human meat is a plus but you cannot consume more than 1 human per week. If you choose to retain your humanity, you must exterminate minor youkai on weekly basis. Beating up a major youkai grants you a full season of free time, which you may use at your leisure. Please note that you are not allowed to devour a powerful human or totally annihilating a major youkai.
5. Upon acceptance of the rules stated above, you must now swear an oath. The oath must state your willingness to preserve the Great Hakurei Border. To fulfill this oath, you must:
a.) Prevent anyone trying to destroy the border.
b.) Ensure the preservation of the Hakurei name (not necessarily blood).

Actually, if I had my way, I'd like to go to the Human village and just bypass everything.

After the youkai kill another human, I would suggest to the bereaved family that we do something about the Youkai threat.

With my Twenty-first century technology, knowledge, and strategy, I would gradually draw up a plan to overthrow the Youkai overlords, kind of like in The Lord Of The Rings, when the humans destroy Sauron and his terrifying army.

Gensokyo is in Japan, and the Japanese are great believers in suicide attacks. Combine with my expertise in strategic, guerrilla warfare and we would make life very, very miserable for certain youkai. We would strike quickly and retreat back to the village, destroying their infrastructure, their stockpiles of food, weaponry, ammunition, magical devices, whatever...

And when the youkai mount their attack, they would be met with every single member of the human village. Let them slaughter us to the last man, woman and child - then they will have nothing to eat for a while. Truly a Pyrrhic victory.

What would I do? Party! Winter is when I have nothing to do, so why not spend it in the company of others? Really, the situation you guys are describing is no different from the Palestinians and the Israelis. It's not a wholly implausible situation.

The Israelis are the Youkai. More numbers, more territory, heavy weaponry, and if they bore down on the Gaza strip with all their force the Palestinians would be wiped out.

One thing I would do when the Youkai come to kidnap someone, is fit them with a vest of explosives.

Then when they're dragged off to the home of said youkai, our target detonates his vest. He dies, and so do a couple hundred Youkai.

Nobody knows how that just happened. Terror and confusion strikes the Youkai. The morale of my students goes up, and more people join. I then proceed to indoctrinate them and teach them my values.

You know you all could completely negate rule one if you take a changeling/shapeshifter power. You could also get around rule 2 with that kind of power by changing into a creature capable of casting high level magic that would let you remember your past. First, regarding my earlier claim that Yukari can exist without humans. If you actually knew anything, you would have pointed out that canon source says youkai cannot exist without humans, instead of spitting more retarded ideas no one gives a shit about.

You're forgetting one thing, Arcueid Brunestud. The Israelis, much as you may hate them, are human. Youkai (especially the grimdark kind you seem to love) are not. Unfeeling monsters will not hesitate to wipe out the human village if they percieve it to be a threat to their existence. There can be no insurgency if the populace is decimated and eaten.

That would never work at all. It would work for a short while, but there would inevitably be arguments between the races that the youkai of EVERYTHING favored one more than the other, and before you know it we have a slippery slope!

Now, my idea is simple. We never, EVER attack youkai head on. Like, a day before Suwako went out for a walk, I'd post a sniper or a bowman up in a tree nearby, or in a foxhole. Or bury a land mine where she'd walk. You get the idea.
