Seeing as I can't get to sleep right now, I've decided it's probably a good time to marathon each proper game from the Touhou series in succession as Reimu. Feel free to join me.

Easy Mode: Windows-era games only.
Normal Mode: PC-98 games included.
Hard Mode: All the games with a number (fighting and gimmick games ect)
Lunatic Mode: and your Touhou doujin games.

Reimu's ying yang ball killed me more often then the bosses did. Can't get a good baring on my score though, my emulator doesn't much like japanese characters.

I guess I did better than I thought I would with TH02 Lunatic. Predictable Enemies + Suicide Bullets = Interesting Play. I liked how the score-extra-life system helped me kill as much as I could risk for points.
I didn't know about rapid-fire being more powerful than holding down too before today.

There's a translation (though there really isn't much to translate) for Highly Responsive to Prayers, and I imagine that would fix your problems.
Or just use anex98, I guess, though you'll need some joy2key program since it ignores pads.

Of course, since you're on marathon this is kinda useless information at this point, but you could always get that stuff for later.
