A lot of the text in Umineko is redundant. The characters talk about the same concepts and event over and over again, just under different wording.

A summary would suffice for most the game.

Rather than who died, when and how, all this "redundant" information can help you come to theorize WHY they did, and who would have motive to kill them. Ryuukishi said he wanted to focus a lot more on this.

When the amount of new information is minimal or nonexistant the writing can be considered redundant. Luckily Ryukishi has been improving and the later episodes aren't nearly as bad.

What remains consistent between episodes is pretty important.

For example, in episode 1 and 2, at 10:00PM, in a closed room where Maria is, a golden envelope with the same message and circle inside will be found.
