Mix in more melee with your attacks so you can punish that sort of thing. Reisen's kind of tough to work with (or at least was) because of the nature of her bullets and ridiculously short melee range. Experiment and practice some more.

Well if THAT'S your Komachi you sure as hell should. Ignoring the fact that it was basically a run-around-the-screen-throwing-bullets-until-something-hits match you managed to do a good job of keeping my Suika at bay.
Besides, why can't you main both? I mean, I have like 3 or 4 mains whom I all play most of the time. Cirno mirrors are stupidly (pun intended) awesome but if you can pull off changing things around, by all means do so.

You're definitely skilled with all three, but Sanae is broken shit and - just like Youmu - a brick could win with her. Just so long as that brick can hit 623C.

Reisen's effectiveness depends on who she's playing against, really. 214B/C can eat big bullets like Utsuho 5C but the rest of playing her is just about ENTIRELY mindgames.
A good Reisen player is one who spents a longass time practicing and understanding the concept of human error. Of course, there's still that stupid fucking pseudo-bug where calm weather and the green potion's effects make it obvious where she is during 623 and spellcard invisibility, which is either lazy programming or bullshit that renders something which would otherwise be good useless.

Oh fff, I was spectating those matches and KNEW those colors looked familiar. And Nipah, even though you pride yourself on 66C you're just going to get your ass handed to you hardcore. It worked best when the opponent's dashing; try to make it second nature to dash forward and use it when you see them grounddashing toward you. It'll help a lot.

But uh, Magister, quick Chiruno question. Say the opponent's in the corner, would it be better to set up freezetraps closer to or further from them? From my experience they just graze past when they're close, don't fall for my baiting when it's far, and either block or get accidentally knocked OUT of it by me comboing if I do it when they're right in front of me. It's like getting it to actually work in practical situations is entirely a gamble.

I would setup a freezetrap from fullscreen and just hide in it. If they wanna wait until it expires, okay, I'll do it again. If they jump at me and actually attack, the trap will CH them and I get free comboan, and if they block it, I get the momentum. If they come by the ground and try to graze it, I just ice charge them. But I stopped running those for her laser alt. Both are good, just preference for how you'd want to play, I think.

Way too many close matches, way too many. Honestly, it's impossible to gauge where your China stands at the moment. I consider Patchy my main and you went 50-50 with her (wanted to get one more match with her before quitting for the night, but you denied me the pleasure ;_;) as well as with characters I consider myself to be much better with than some of the ones I was beating you with towards the end, but you were bringing the matches down to the wire against all of them. You very quickly learned to change up your corner sequences once I started punishing the melee to bullet gap, but you can certainly do with some improvement there. Graze and reversals seem to be your greatest enemies at the moment, I think (double 2-card Yuyuko butterfly finishes? Ouch...). You make good use of China's spell cards though. That damn Dial-A to kick super and her 5 card 5k damage hit me way too many times for my liking. Considering your reliance on them, I found the Reisen match to be very, very entertaining.

GGs Nipah, I think I was a lot more merciful than Magister. After actually playing you myself I can say that you are most definitely NOT a bad Cirno player, but you have a few habits that get your ass kicked. I have a ton of those too so I don't blame you, but really; if you keep this up you should start calling yourself 22C tier.
Default 22 is NOT as good for baiting as it initially seems, and although it has its situational uses you're probably better off switching it out for that one iceball 22, although I personally prefer the freeze 22 myself.
One thing that really bothered me is that you have a bunch of good skillcards (icecharge, icesword, etc.) in your deck but you NEVER use them. Those two are the SAVIORS of her melee game and it really breaks my heart to see that you'd just use them as fodder for SC costs. Don't do it.

All in all, you have potential to really be THE STRONGEST.

Oh gawd, tell me about it. Against most characters 5B is okay, mediocre at best, but against other Cirnos it's basically your whole life. When both players are near the same level mirrormatches with her can be LOOOOONG, even in comparison to other mirrors. It boils down to a battle of who can stay in the air and shoot at each other the longest, the loser of which promptly tasting anything in Cirno's arsenal, basically. Rinse, repeat.

The best thing about her though is the ability to punish moves with 66C. Proper use of this is what saves her in David & Goliath matches such as against Utsuho and Suika. Not 100% on this but I'm fairly sure it goes under the loliball so if you and Suika try to clash with those you'll just end up going past each other, giving you a good chance to spray some bullets and keep her on guard. On top of that, if you hit slightly earlier your iceblock is definitely going to knock that drunken oni loli's ass down; again, the screen's all yours until she gets up.

Unfortunately for your side, in that situation Suika's going to have a lot of options to keep you on your toes as well like 6C, which is going to knock the crap out of you if you're still trying to shoot when it explodes. Just don't EVER try to fight back if she gets you in a corner and if you connect in the air and you're slightly below her, block instead of trying to attack.
Generally though, this is just a horrible matchup for our poor ice fairy. The rest is all luck.

Even though I have a controller myself it hates to input those things; I don't blame you. One way I like to do it is, whenever I see icesword in my corner, play until I get a combo going then use my card button to pull it off instead of bothering to input 623, for all levels. Lazy way to do it.

Meiling needs graze attack options; her 66A/B/C are pretty much shit if your opponent has a pulse and knows where his B and C buttons are. Also, the majority of her bullets stay pretty much right in front of her, the only exception being her 6C; and in addition to this, they're all that great other than 5C.

But, as Meiling herself says when she wins, "Relying on projectiles is a waste. Beating them directly feels better." All in all, she's a really fun character to play as, and can dish out a decent pressure game, but I can't really see her beating out Reimu/Marisa/Youmu.

Nah you don't need to. If you just press confirm twice yeah you'll get a random deck, but confirm once and the 4 colors come up, then press a direction+confirm to invisibly select which deck you want, kinda like hiding your spellcard choice in iamp.

GGs. You really need to zone more with your C rings. Try to keep one out in front of you when you're advancing so I can't hit you with random bullets.
Also, you have a tendency to turtle a bit when you get below 1/4 life. This is a terrible strategy with China. Terrible. Especially when my deck is full of stat boost cards.

Yeah, that was me. I didn't have any SWR ingrained habits, so j.8A feels OK to me.

As for Sanae's SC combo, it's actually really, really easy to use on hit confirm. I didn't bother to use it several times because I was trying to save it for a round ender. The scariest part is not only does it combo off 66C, but also midscreen dial 5A.

Great games as always, Tree; your Cirno's looking fairly solid (I loved the Ice Car -> Sword Spellcard combo, shit was so cool), you just gotta be careful about allowing me to graze right through and melee you all the time. I'm experimenting with an Okuu control rod deck right now, and I must say that I'm liking it so far, but the whole "7.5% extra damage taken per level" bit really hurts when you use Suika. GGs Guy, you're definitely one of the better players on /jp/ and moreso fun to play against. Just, China has EVERY advantage over Cirno imaginable with the sole exception of range, and our poor ice fairy can't pressure her enough to get shit done in that case anyway. Melee range fucks her hard since - as has been said before - she has stubby limbs so she can't fight back in the corner at all, and any other part of the screen is really no different since unless Cirno manages a good followup the one with the longer arms wins.
If anything every match with her devolved into the same formula as with most of my mains against anybody in Soul Calibur: If you hit me once, you win.

Suika, on the other hand, can keep Meiling at bay pretty well since she has a "If you try to melee me I'm going to rape the shit out of you" button. Plenty of them, actually. Like that new 22, best goddamn thing ever.

That thing's crap, when I want its effects I just play Reisen. I also get the substitute doll effect too, it's just that using it even after a knockdown sets me up for all kinds of shit. Fortunately system cards aren't so different -- if you noticed, every time you used that were mostly the only times Cirno got a combo in.
I don't like it, though, because I use slightly less risky system cards with better effects, like timestop.

Eh, I think it suits me just fine. If you hadn't noticed, I'm more of a high risk/high reward player, and if I manage to max out the control rods, a fair portion of my combos ending in my alt skills will hit from anywhere between 3k to 4.1k damage. And if the combo involves a spellcard; specifically, a Fist of the North Star-esque spellcard...well, :3

That's because, by the sound of it, you're thinking too much.
You call yourself 66C tier; THIS is when you use it. Graze, hit, graze, hit, graze, hit. Rinse, repeat.
They can't do shit about it unless they're in the air, in which case you should just time your graze, jump up from under them, and j.8A. j.5A and j.3A work too, but the headbutt launches them more and you can either combo them more or - if they tech - have more breathing room to set shit up.

One thing with Reisen, though, if I may: your corner string is really predictable. Try to mix high/low hits in, so you force me to wrongblock. As it was, I was able to repeatedly graze out of the corner.

It's always interesting to see how other people play as Meiling. Yours looked pretty aggressive as well; there's not much I can really say though, other than to keep practicing her combos and keep blocking my melee. Good games, all in all.
