I'll probably be making something for it. I think it would be fun if /jp/ got together (at least the interested parties) and made a bunch of stuff. Art, minigames, etc etc.

Protip: Flash sucks for games.

It's slow at doing the most simple things, it actually somehow manages to get SLOWER when full screening (where as most games get a nice boost in framerate when in fullscreen mode), and its just ass in general. The only thing flash has going for it is vector graphics, and even that isn't really much of an advantage.

Motivation is what keeps most people from doing creative things. Even if someone is terrible at something, you have to respect having the gall to actually do the work in the first place.

That said, its usually best to work in groups to get stuff done. For myself, though, that doesn't really work because I'm so controlling of my ideas.

Really now? Because, last time I checked, a game running on directX will beat out the same exact game in flash for framerate every single fucking time, and usually by quite a bit. It has nothing to do with bad programming, since running code accounts for such a small portion of CPU time. Its displaying the graphics and playing sounds that accounts for the most CPU time and ram. And guess wut. Flash is terribly, horribly, inefficient for both.

Most advanced Flash games draw all graphics purely with actionscript, so that's no excuse. The sound is only a problem if you don't compress it properly beforehand.

That s thing is something that has been drawn by elementary school children the world over. No one really knows where it started, but a couple theories that get tossed around a lot is that it was a clothing company's logo in austrailia (Stussy, I think the name was) or that it was some gang's logo in the '80s in america. No proof exists for either of these ideas.

Heres a fun test. Take the Samus sprite from Super Metroid. Now tell flash to create 1000 of them. Make them all scale, rotate, move, and recolor at the same time. If you have a good rig, do 2000 - 5000 instead of a thousand.

It might interest you to know that making a game from scratch, such as using directX or openGL, you would easily be able to do this with 60fps. While playing music and sound effects.

You might have a point if you were trying to make a game that used only primitives...

But no wait, you still don't, since directX and openGL still do primitives many times faster. How the fuck do you think 3d games work? Its just a bunch of primitives with textures plastered to them.

tl;dr : there is a reason why no self respecting game developer uses flash, and why nearly all flash games are complete shit.
