Some places in the west of Japan have had days of 2m snowfall this year.
In the past five winters I've been in Japan, this would be the coldest with the most snow so far.
Where I am we haven't had a single snowfall that has topped some previous years, but the first serious snowfalls usually came mid-Jan and we have had three so far in December some more falling now.
If we get more than 10cm in a single snowfall later in Jan or Feb it'll be largest single snowfall I've seen while living here.

I have a question, are there locals who like to go on police car/motorcycle spotting? if there is even a thing? because I sometimes get vids from time to time on my feed of short clips of the police passing by and being filmed.

If it's a thing, there's an otaku. You can find loads of videos on YT of people filming fire trucks, police escorts, military convoys, etc. Don't know if there are many camping out at police stations like they would at rail stations or airports though. Most of the videos look like they were captured opportunistically on their phone.

I can't think of any webcam outside a police or fire station. There used to be regular police patrols on the old Kabukicho cam, but that's about all I can think of.

One day I WILL set foot there. Japan may be different in 2021 and sure will be different when I get there but at this point it's the principle of the matter. Always been just out of reach for me. Anyway, here's some mid 2000s Japan. Harajuku Station circa 2005. Of course they're tearing it down and replacing it with something soulless soon. At least we'll still have pictures.

What restrictions are there in Japan with restaurants? It looks like the Italian place across the road from Bessyo station is closed in the evenings now. Used to be lights on all night, but now it's pitch-black.

>> No.32337465

>>32337101
In prefectures that are in a "state of emergency" the government is politely asking for restaurants to close at 8pm. But maybe people do it outside of such prefectures. Not that I know if Bessho is actually in such a prefecture or not. I would think not, but what do I know.

>> No.32337523

>>32337465
I should add that I saw some places circumventing it by turning into "take out only". Yesterday I saw McDonalds being the only fast food chain that was not closed after 8, not sure if they were doing "take out only" or not, but there was a big line for them, probably because they were one of the few places open at all.

There isn't a consistent poster of them I believe, you can literally just post them yourself. I have posted them before, even half ass one's and they've still caught on. We have a guy that does this thread all the time and is active, the photography general doesn't I know I have started them and I've seen them up when other's have started them too, you could honestly just save the title and post it now and flood in a few photos I guess.
