Also keep in mind, stealth doesn't work past act 1. Just outright. You can't get it high enough in Plus to work past act 1. You'll have to have some kind of gameplan once you get that far. That said, pickpocket doesn't really have anything to do with stealth. Exactly. It just helps to be alone with your target so less people roll against you.

I'm going to make that new character as some biological alchemist-mage(ie use roses and shiet, then throw potions and shiet, then use spells once I threw everything I had).
That's why I asked, I had suspicion that stealth wasn't really a working skill in the sense that most people would expect. I saw that E+ class feat for thieves and I had that broken stealth from skyrim in my head for a reason, but obviously it wouldn't be broken as in OP in E+'s case.

Enemy perception just gets too high in act 2, sadly. There's a reason magic, ma, or making your weapon weigh 300 units reign supreme.

That said, smoke screen is a fucking amazing little power to unlock. You can count on one hand how many enemies in elona don't get fucked by line of sight rules. The applications are endless. Sneak in to a guild? Force your pickpocket target to be alone? Turn a monster closet in to a series of 1v1s? And doesn't the teleport attack unlock from stealth? Still worth it to level stealth enough (not like that's hard). Just keep in mind, if you want to go killing you need something more conventional for act 2 and on.

That said, sniper thief is totally broken till that point.

In 2.02, when your speed is 5x that of a unique npc, you do 1/5 the damage, and they do 5x the damage, resulting in a 25x advantage for the npc. Even if we pretend that there are no sources of damage which do not benefit from speed, and thus assume that we can divide that advantage by 5 to account for the player getting 5x as many turns, that still leaves a 5x advantage for the npc. So increasing speed not only makes you require up to 5x as many offensive spells and items for the same result, but also puts you at up to a 5x disadvantage. This might be the worst attempt at balancing that I have ever seen.

Mechanically, the problem is that you get a fixed bonus to stealth based on distance from every enemy in the dungeon. But that bonus never scales and enemies stats end up racing past it in act 2 and beyond. The speed nerf never benefits the player. It does unintentionally make the speed attribute a ridiculous anti-stat for anything that is fighting a unique NPC.

Hey dudes, i'm a relatively new player and the game's great, but i am slowly stumbling into a bit of an issue. While exploring dungeons used to be quite fun, identifying dropped loot on the ground becomes a bit tedious with all the text rolling by quite fast in the small info tab at the bottom. So going over each and every item to look for good ones becomes a bit annoying and my eyes are getting quite strained with trying to read all the lines and figuring out the quality. So my question is.
1. Are there any quality of life mods that make sorting through all the loot on the floor easier? Maybe like a name tag on top of the item, or a colored dot that indicates rarity?
2. While i'm at it, are there any good terrain retextures you could suggest that are easier on the eyes? Some of the backgrounds are really ultra detailed and that doesn't help the eye strain.
3. Is there a way to make the game window bigger? I've tried editing the config file to be 1920x1080 which just ended up stretching it only horizontally.

I do have the quality skill! Maybe i wasn't clear enough with my comment. What i meant is, i would like to be able to distinguish the quality easier when all the drops are on the ground, so i don't have to walk over each individual piece that i see in the area and read the tiny textbox that has a lot of other information messing with it. Like if there is a godly item on the ground, it would have some sort of a distinguishable feature. Maybe i am blind and there is something to it already, but if there would be an easier way to spot the quality without stepping on the item, i'd be all for it! I've noticed that gems glow. It mostly just adds stuff to endgame, like being able to have the smithing xp bonus for millions of turns, and an uber boss with 2 billion hp that can decap you at 100% hp. Because of the AP mechanic, my speed has skyrocketed above my other stats, and if I updated now, most uniques would one-shot me with gauge attacks, unless I dropped my speed by 2/3 somehow before fighting them. Meshara Alpha is fucking me up enough as it is. Changing speed/AP would change the entire game, whereas this is just a boss buff, so evidently the speed scaling relative to other stuff like dungeon, quests, or arena is seen as pretty okay. You only get really high scaling at really high multipliers, which is pretty much impossible outside finding an extremely good mount, and actually impossible against endgame bosses because of the speed cap. Honestly, A2/A3 bosses were piss easy anyway because speed is the god-stat and it's easy to get from A2 on, giving it one weakness in that it won't trivialize bosses and so story progress requires you to actually train/gear other things too isn't uncalled-for.
