Also I think most vtubers are used to seeing butchered machine translation all the time just like we're used to them writing Song frame in English or any of the other things we've just gotten used to that are completely wrong but they all say and write.

Singing and getting praised for it is something that she mentions basically every month.
As for how she got into it, I have not heard about that but I never went through her early archives. I'm probably not far off by guessing that she just saw her friends doing vtubing and wanted to join them.
