I think it's okay to have a nuanced opinion about the issue. She clearly grew through a combination of her own merits and clippers signal boosting rather than tags. It takes more than metatags to get people to sub and keep showing up for streams. I don't sub and watch everything that shows up in a search result. That said the tags create a perception of an association that is not there and is unwarranted. Your similar content argument is a slippery slope. How similar does content have to be before it's acceptable to use tags to asymbiotically associate yourself with a larger creator? These are not general tags they're specific references to specific creators. It is absolutely against YouTube policy which is what makes this even more stupid.
