3 dickheads did a kickstarter to fund their Touhou Smash game. They emailed ZUN and asked him if crowd funding was okay but they started it before he gave them a response. They were met with a cease and desist and they got salty as fuck on their youtube channel. Despite their game looking like pure shit, they made pretty good progress on the smash gameplay, but then again, with Unity that's not that hard. They evntually got ban hammered from ShrineMaiden and other forums for being salty and butthurt.

Those guys were complete retards and I'm glad they are gone, but I don't like ZUN's crowd funding policy. It wasn't explicitly mentioned in his original license. And he also arbitrarily allowed a Chinese doujin group to use crowd funding. ZUN also seems to arbitrarily greenlight certain funding platforms like saying yes to Steam, but no to Sony/Nintendo's platforms.

I agree with you and I'm not that guy, but we can no longer cite moot law as if it's still valid. 4chan has been under new management for the last couple of years. If the new guys decide that Touhou doesn't belong on a certain board then that's the new law of the land.

Meh, not really. Touhou is fading dramatically in popularity. There's really not that much important works. At least not what it used to be. ZUN used to churn out content every couple of months but he's slowing down. He's too busy making beer and fucking his gf.

Well good for ZUN, but he lost me as a dev. I instead went on to make an Undertale game. I don't like someone arbitrarily enforcing laws. That's what dictators do. Undertale is several magnitudes more larger than Touhou at this point by any metric. I wonder why.
