Stupid fucking fred from megatokyo started that shit after playing (or rather staring dumbly at) Kanon when it was first released back in 2000. He did his little webcomic and had a referance to kanon as "Sad girls in snow" since then...its become infamous and an insult to one of my more favored games.

Agreed. I was a 14 year old high school Sophomore at the time, and checked Megatokyo daily.

That was also the same year that I came across someone saying "lol Megatokyo = Love Hina wut a fag." So sure enough, I downloaded me some Love Hina, watched the first episode, and vowed to never look at that pile of crap comic series again.

Back when I first played Kanon in 2000 (the AVG32 CD version, woohoo) the art was really nice, and it's still decent.

The thing Key definitely did better than anyone else was the background art. Holy shit. I challenge anyone to find a pre-Kanon eroge with better background art than Kanon.
