the previous thread died off because the mods decreed that vtuber shit is now allowed outside of their general
this resulted in a good hundred or so threads being made practically at the same time and choking every thread that relied on /jp/'s slower pace to death unless someone was around to keep bumping it.
this might be the way it's going to stay now since the entire board will be faster, but I hope you can persevere.

I feel the same. I actually come here only for this thread and one other thread and both are at the risk of dying in one hour, seeing the state of the board it’s just a hassle trying to bump them hourly in case no one is around. It’s sad, love this thread, but if the mods won’t do anything about the autism happening right now, I don’t wanna bother too.
Hopefully it’s temporary.

>> No.31104279

>>31104221
Holoshit thread hits bump limit. 4-5 people immediately rush screaming to make the next identical OP, pushing 4-5 threads off the board. Their threads get deleted but the main one maxes again in an hour, at which point another set of threads gets pushed off. This isn't a problem that can be solved with getting rid of extra threads, it needs a new board.

A full transfer would not happen. So it will be fragmented. And by being a on a small site it means that whenever we lose a person we will likely not get a new one. So there is that. Technically the smug loli has the greatest potential to get some newcomers to join the threads, but again, no reason to stop posting here.
We can technically have two or more threads on different sites at the same time, but that is likely to cause some divide as it is. We can use github to sort of advertise the different threads on different sites, but as a whole I believe that doing that will cause more damage than threads dying here once in a while. It is not that much of a pain in the ass to just make a new thread.

It's fork of live image board so when you start typing a new post is made and every change is displayed to everyone else in real time.
https://github.com/bakape/meguca
A classic posting style could be added client side (basically like copy pasting your full post from notepad) but I don't have time right now.
Clearing upload and post deletion is more doable, but if people seeing you compose your post is not something you could get used to you probably just want a different board software.

I'm personally not much into trains past the face level "whoa so fast" and "how sleek" impressions. I know nothing about their history, mechanical workings, civil applications, or otherwise. That's more /n/ territory anyway.

Perhaps people just like observing the stops and seeing the life that comes in and out of them.

>> No.31309179

>all of these

Trains, like planes, are one of the pinnacles of mankind's genius. He has harnessed and controlled nature's raw and savage power and made it work for his benefit. From the brutal steam engine, massive iron beasts using nothing but steam to revolutionise the world, to the sleek shinkansen, gliding gracefully over the tracks to transport billions of people speedily and precisely from one city to the next in minutes. And we get to watch everyone from little grannies to high school students benefit from these magnificent creations daily on cameras dotted throughout Japan.

I'm sure we've all seen footage of shinkansens whizzing past a camera in the blink of an eye, but it's only when I watch them move slowly in depots like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KzxUq8KXZk do I realise how long and massive they are. All that power and tonnage is controlled by a single person sitting at the front! And the cameras also show me how important trains are in people's daily lives; from the long 16-carriage trains snaking their way through Toyko taking hundreds of thousands to work every day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YRUWrkV2R4, to the single little carriage puttering its way through the valleys of the Japanese Alps with a dozen people on board http://www.shimogo-live.jp/ , http://live.ueda.ne.jp/bessyo.html .

And yes, it is very relaxing to watch train webcams and others ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aSBa6ylPuQ , http://live.ueda.ne.jp/ikushima.html ) and watch the world go by. I miss the Aizu camera because it was one of the best to show all of this.

Actually, in most cases, I'm pasting a youtube url directly into the "Open location from clipboard". It looks like this for me, on version 3.0.7.1. I'm very unlikely to upgrade because the last time I tried, it completely broke recording for me and I had to reinstall the whole thing.

I'll tell you when it stopped applying the titles to output- it was December 1st, 2020. Everything before that has a proper filename..
About 20% of my youtube links don't work at all, they just rapidly flicker while failing to load anything. Very frustrating, at that point I have to go and screen record it instead (which prevents me from using my PC for however long I want to record). Normally I would get past this by replacing my youtube.lua (inside the program's playlist folder) with a fresh one from the github, but it hasn't helped lately.

I don't mind the man for wanting to leave and do bigger things, I do mind that he basically passed the site to a conman and a whole legion of SA goons as its enforcers.

>> No.31470051

>>31469965
Basically. He was just so checked out he didn't care who he passed the site too. To some extent I don't blame him, but he himself game up so readily and rather than trying to reform and build on, he just dumped and ran off. That last little stream he did as a 'goodbye' really signaled how out of touch he became with his own site, and his interests weren't remotely close to what they used to be.

>> No.31470241

>>31470051
I know there was a long history of being dumped by every advertiser he tried to get, because of the site's reputation. When it wasn't that, it was trying to run a money pit while autists around the globe tried to spam and ddos it to hell for no real reason. It was embroiled in shitstorms with the media and there's really no way out of that.

I still call him a traitor. Anyway, a few hours from now a huge amount of western Japan is going to be blanketed in snow and I'm praying it's before dark or at least visible. I want to record things and then put them on the other site in longer format.

>> No.31470461

>I still call him a traitor
Last thing I'll say is that he's a traitor on the sole premise of lying to site goers that he wasn't actively looking to sell the site, and anted to reform things and immediately announced the sale shortly after.

I hope so too, but I likely won't get much time to view due to being called into work. Hope it works out for you.

Also he tried to make some social network bullshit that was so irrelevant I already forgot its name.

It might work for me, I have a list of about 10 cams that are directly in the 'blue zone' and hopefully it means something. I don't know what to think about radar sites when I look at a cam dumping snow and there's no precipitation on the map.

Inadvertently fixed my washed out colors problem too. The mistake all along was trying to find an issue with it by including the keyword 'recording' - there's a setting in the video options to determine an output module.
