Repost, half because I like talking business strategy and half because I have a blood desire to shit on the A**** menace
WHY DID HOLOLIVE SUCCEED WHERE NIJI HAS FAILED?
Luck in expanding to the EOP audience is a HUGE factor, but there's also the consistent "family" branding that they keep up.
To explain it, I'll use an example. Hololive overtaking Niji in the world market is the equivalent to Italians overtaking Anglos in the United States during the first half of the 20th century.
Nijis, like Anglos, operate on a survival of the fittest mentality. They throw everything onto the canvas in hopes of finding something that works, and the ones who fail are fucked. Hence, you have over 100 Nijis you probably never heard of and a small handful that succeed.
Holos, like the Italians, are smarter. They have a family, and the family pulls each other forward to greater heights, while the ones getting supported give their support back, everyone making up for weaknesses other members may have so that no one truly fails. By working together, fostering close bonds, and a few strokes of EOP luck, Hololive managed to massively grow without sacrificing much of anything.
Remember, Korone helped spark the EOP boom in the summer, but her start was god-awful. But where a Niji would've been left to die, Hololive's talent stepped in to help her and make her grow to a place where her talents could shine through. Every time a Holo struggles, you'll see that they talk to each other and find ways to overcome their problems together.
TL;DR: Look at my picture, and you'll have your answer.
