I'm interested in playing any of the Megaten series.
What game should i play first?

Nocturne and Persona 3 and 4 are widely considered damn good, gameplay-wise. I'm partial to Devil Survivor, too. Digital Devil Saga 1+2 on the PS2 also have great combat systems.

SMT1+2, the first two Personas, et. al. have their charms but combat in Megaten games really improves once the series hit the PS2 and they introduced the Press Turn system and its variants.
