Goddamn it, the film took some fucking liberties with the book.

There are legends about just how much stuff they had to take out to squeeze it into two hours long. I've heard rumours that originally it was going to be 9 hours, or three three hour films.

Though it was always going to be difficult depicting that Paul being capable of perceiving all posible futures in his head all at once, and how that was a major headfuck.

They did it on Trainspotting! There is no way that they couldn't do something similar on the movies, since you don't read what he is actually seeing, only some fragments of it that could be filmed into a major trip.
