There isn't, here's how it went.

1) KS releases a demo, lots of attention is given to it and all is generally positive. It's popularity spreads to other boards but /jp/ as a slow board seems to be spending a lot of time on it.

2) The slow speed of /jp/ just makes it seems like there's a lot of KS threads, really it's the same amount as /a/ or /v/ who don't notice as much as they're faster. Some people get tired of the seemingly high number of KS threads and start claiming it's the KS devs trying to promote their game, just trolling really.

3) More trolls latch onto the KS devs idea and start spamming pointless KS threads to piss people off, the original trolls fall for it and end up in an endless cycle of "What's her disability?" "SAGE FOR KS DEVS".

4) The truth is no one has cared about KS for months now, only the trolls trolling trolls who were trolled when they first trolled care now. KS threads are now inhabited entirely by trolls, everyone else just ignores them.

Aww, we don't hate you. KS Act 1 actually had a very positive reception in here in the first three threads we had here about it. We're just very bitter towards it because newfriends from /a/ in /v/ flooded /jp/ with retarded "LOL LOOK LELOUCHE IS IN HERE" threads after its release. It quickly turned every KS thread into a shitstorm. Now all KS threads are met with endless trolling ("get out KS devs" being the most infamous dumb meme that came out of it).

We don't hate it, we just pretend we do. Otherwise /a/ would try pushing their threads and inevitably, underaged userbase on us. We've all seen how that would work out from moot's EPIC TROLL XD.

I've played it; I found it mediocre. The writing wasn't bad per se but it didn't flow smoothly at all, and the characters, if stripped of their disabilities, are painfully generic. The main character's monologue was horribly uninspired, and while the token friend character wasn't that bad, he didn't fit in the atmosphere. I'll try the full version once it's out and will finish a route or two, if they manage to keep the quality from worsening at least, but I have no other particular feelings about it.

Sure, it has a relatively unique premise at first glance, but all in all it remains a standard 'go to new school, meet girls, relationship ensues' visual novel, which, while certaily seems an acheivement for western attempts at tackling the medium, it brings nothig new to experienced readers and it really has seen more attetion than it deserves, which does irk some people.

In my honest opinion I actually liked it a bit.
It was initially very boring and stale but later on things kind of ramped up to a point where I found it quite enjoyable. Yeah the protag is useless, yeah the story has plotholes, yeah the characters are somewhat unlikable and the plot devices are fucked out the ass but it makes the experience somewhat unique.

lighting isn't one dimensional, it constantly bounces off of other objects and contorts shadows you don't draw something and have it look like you took a spot light to someone in the dark of the night. reflected light doesn't have the same intensity as directed light. basically the sprites and CGs have have either all their lighting coming from one direction or have the same intesity of light coming from all around. also some of the sprites are lit in the opposite direction of the background, what the fuck is wrong with you people.

I really don't understand you /jp/, I love Kagetsu Tohya and powerlevel threads, I come here everyday, but what's with the hate on KS? I mean if one just takes the demo as it, it's pretty good as a VN, it has good art, the writing isn't spectacular, but it's better than some VN's I have seen. The characters are likable, and the story kinda original (I mean the school life isn't new, but the cripple school life is).

KS is just a moe eroge, nothing more nothing else.
It brings nothing that hasn't been done a thousand times before to the table, the execution itself is very standard.
You can't expect people who have played at least some eroge of the same type before to go apeshit for it.

Of course it's different for /a/ and /v/ who are populated by lots of underage faggots, KS was probably the first for a lot of them so it had the advantage of novelty, especially since it's easily accessible.

It's all rather obvious really.
When the KS demo was first released, it had a small number of fans here who used to make threads about it. Some of those threads were also made by KS Devs. Most of the people here didn't really like or dislike the VN, but it was tolerated anyway the way all of our minor interests (Idols, Kigurumi, etc.) are tolerated.
But as it became more and more popular on the other boards (again, partly due to KS Devs advertising it) the number of threads about it here increased to a point that all the people who didn't care much about it began to publicly hate it. Of course, a lot of those threads were created by trolls as well.
It's the exact same thing that's been happening on /a/ for years now. It's sad to see that /jp/'s not immune.
