Time for a history lesson.

/jp/ started borrowing paintchat rooms right around June 1, 2008. Things were all fun and games for a while, but invariably some retard would enter the room and either spam the "clear all" button, flip horizontal/vertical, rectangles, or copy/paste functions; rendering the room useless. Still, Paintchat sessions continued throughout the summer, until the trolling was too much to bear--within minutes of the paintchat link posted in /jp/, you could expect an /a/ or /b/ troll to show up and ruin the experience for everyone. Nananana.dip and Amigou.com paintchats died, everyone left and paintchatting rather occurred anymore.

Some /jp/sies moved to nijiura paintchat, but eventually enough trolls got wind of it and started spamming there too. Finally, nijiura died and that marked the end of /jp/ paintchats.

Some people still do paintchatting, but the link is never passed out. Now you can understand why!

Recently some tripfags and anons have started OpenCanvas sessions but those have quite a few limitations. It never became mainstream in the end.
