oh god damnit one of these threads again.

Look Ark is essentially the avatar of a dark god. Of COURSE he can kill servants!

This is one of the Three Actually Good jRPGs (Chrono Trigger, Terranigma, Seiken Denetsu 3).
I approve.

Man I love that game. Isn't there a huge twist at the end of the game? I should re-play it one day.

Man now I want to see how FS/N would be if Lancer had been replaced by Ark.

It'd be kick ass.

There's a huge twist in the finale of the game, yeah.

Turns out your revival of humanity was directed by Satan.

Ark is the definition of tragic, selfless hero.

I mean, everything he did, and he got zero reward. He didn't get the girl. Everyone he knew was a lie/dead.

"So yeah, thanks for saving Life itself! Now you can see a fake impersonation of the people who cared for you and die!"

I am sad to hear it, but I disagree with your opinion and hold onto my own.
Unless you manage to show me an jRPG which I will consider better than those three. Then I will change my point of view to yours.

It's a terribly average game, definitely not worthy of the praises it gets showered in.

It's pathetically easy, too.

Eh, if you only like terribly generic SNES jRPGs, I'm afraid that's one of the most closeminded markets in the Nostalgia Superstore.

>> No.2997934

I think that the fighting system was very innovative, and that the story was quite enticing.

And what does "pathetically easy" mean in jRPGs? That you can play it without wasting months on grinding levels, and just have fun? I can't really see how RPGs can be hard. They can be very time consuming, but that doesn't mean hard.

considering that *still* no one has tried to suggest a non-"generic" jRPG, it's obvious you're just trolling because you hate jRPGs period and think they're all "generic" (which, ironically, is itself a generic and nearly meaningless insult since people throw it around about almost anything)

Lufia II the best SNES RPG, shut up.

>> No.2998019

Thank you. I've played Chrono Cross, but I didn't like it. Gameplay was barely any different from final fantasy. There were some sort of action point or something, but it didn't matter much, since you spammed best spells and attacked when out of mana or killing weak enemies anyway, just like in thousand other jRPGs.
I'll try the other ones though.

>Gameplay was barely any different from final fantasy

The stamina bar is utterly nothing like the ATB system.

>There were some sort of action point or something, but it didn't matter much, since you spammed best spells and attacked when out of mana

Okay you've never played Chrono Cross.
There's no action, just deciding what attacks to use.
There's no mana, either.
You also have to attack every turn or else you can't cast spells at all.

Hey, it's and old game that I played an old time ago, and I didn't really care about remembering much of it. When I was talking about action points, I meant stamina. I don't remember how much spells could you cast in a fight, and how it was restrained.

>> No.2998125

>>2998071
But I'm very sure we had a thread about Ark that ended up in a discussion about JRPGs just like this a while ago.

>> No.2998127

It's simply restrained by "you can only cast this spell once". Spells were like items that replenish after battle.
