They work, basically they treat power cables like ethernet cables and send data along them electrically which gives you a frankestein bandaid abortion solution of internet speed that's better than wifi but worse than ethernet

I used one for 3 years, they work just not very well. They even work when the two outlets are on different breakers (poorly though, which is why I switched). If your outlets are on the same breaker they work only a little bit worse than a long ethernet cable. Much better than wifi
