Evening, /jp/. All this talk of chess has inspired me to start working on a little project.

I'm a decent woodworker. I carve, I whittle, I make wood look like things that it does not by default.

So, I'm going to carve some chess pieces inspired by Touhou. For one of the sides, I was thinking Meiling peons, little mansions as rooks, Sakuya knights, Patchouli bishops, Flandre as queen and Remilia as king.

Who should I have them face off against?

Mokou and Kaguya would never work together. Maybe something like this, instead.

Kaguya as king, Eirin as queen, bamboo forests as rooks, Udonge as the bishops, tewis as the knights, and rabbits as peons.

Beatrice = Queen
Ronove/Gaap = Knights
Virgilia and Evatrice = Bishops
2 siesta sisters = Rooks
Goats = pawns

Maybe have the SDM's generic fairies be the pawns instead? Then you could make Meiling the knight and Sakuya the rook.
