ari red hanchans (fast) are stupid. The Japanese play relatively fast, but when 3 people are in tenpai, you should have more than 2 seconds to think of the best discard.

If I could I'd play without kandora and uradora on tenhou, but that's not possible.

What? The reason i prefer japanese mahjong over chinese mahjong is because of the dora, kandora and uradora. It is part of the strategy to wait on dora tiles and make you think twice before you deal a dora tiles.

Also 5sec is more than enough to think of what to discard. Actually you should always think ahead on what to discard before your turn anyway.

Also cheap hand is part of the strategy too.

Again with that. Yeah I guess 5 seconds is more than enough to discard something after around half of the the game.

Even so with so little time the first half though will be full of stupid mistakes and wrongly thrown tiles you just didn't have time to think of.

You should be able to change your wait and even your whole hand if what you're aiming for just doesn't come together. Now tell me how the fuck are you supposed to o that with 2 seconds thinking time.

Bottom line is fast games are for professionals that can react in such extreme situations and not us amateur players who in real match conditions wouldn't know a haku from a hatsu.
