New thread about discussing what Ixrec MIGHT be going to/able to translate is up at their forum. That's by no means vote or anything like that yet, but just scratching the surface what options should be included on the vote, and other things.

Saihate no Ima is by far the hardest to read in that list.
Ruitomo also is pretty difficult at time.

Swan Song isn't that difficult in a normal way but the style is beautiful so it would be hard to transcribe it well.
Suigetsu can be hard at times too but it's nothing really unmanageable, some old terms here and there.
Himawari is pretty easy except for some technical term.

Well, if Ixrec wants to challenge himself, can't really go past Saihate. Doesn't mean it's a good idea though. The main problem is that it is probably the most cross-discipline eroge ever written, going into things like computer networking, biology, advanced mathematics, physics etc. and a translator would have a lot of difficulty without being fairly well learned and having access to a lot of reference materials.

What's with this description? It makes me think like they're trying to conceal the fact that he's a robot but, that's not a spoiler, it's kind of the whole plot of the game. Every other description I've read has gone, "He's an advanced robot sent on a mission by 'HIKARI' in order to study humans."

While it is probably the most difficult - both in prose and content - VN ever written, don't be scared off of a great work by that alone. It's nothing compared to a lot of classic literature and generally just needs a pretty good vocabulary.

Finished Cross Channel. And it was really, really average.

95% of the cast was completely unlike-able, the exceptions being Taichi himself and Touko. The plot wasn't all that good, though it did have its moments. The resolution was either extremely stupid or doesn't resolve much at all, depending on which you take.

That said, I didn't hate it. It was interesting enough to keep me reading, but it never wowed me or made me experience any emotion at all, for that matter. The sad moments never affected me, and the 'intense' moments made me go ''meh''. Everything is pretty much forgettable.

Can somebody explain me why people hyped it so much? Because there's absolutely nothing special about it.

I'm mostly hoping he'll translate some of the less common translated kinds.

Like the trap protoganist kind. Is there any translated VN except Kira Kira that has a crossdresser as protoganist?

Yuri would also be hot, since I don't know of a single translated yuri VN.

Lolicon also fall under this, but not sure Ixrec actually likes that kind.

Sex change is also not that well covered, there are the X-change titles but that is all I know of.

Dickgirl is something that might not be for everyone, but also something I haven't even spotted Japanese VNs of.

I haven't seen many translated tentacle focused games either, but they are not my cup of tea anyway.

I'm simply hoping that he'll pick something that we lack alternatives to, and just not the 8th popular harem VN or 5th horror VN.

I don't think I misunderstand at all. But I do lack the knowledge about what the stories are about in the hyped games.

To me it seems like you can't really make that many different versions of school drama without them blurring together.

Adding simple twists however give the impression it will at least be different at parts.

A good story is welcome, but a good Sleeping Beauty story would be rather dull since I'm accustomed to the story. I'd rather have mediocre writing on something original in that case.
