2914021 No.2914021 [Reply] [Original]

What are some good /jp/ related games I can start playing? I recently started playing Touhou and just got myself a usb controller (something I should have done a long time ago).

For now, I'm not interested in RPGs, any turn-based-strategy games or VNs. Like I said, I just got a controller, so I want to put it to good use with sidescrollers, run and guns, fightan games, etc.

Preferably games with English patches, but not required (as long as they're still playable without knowing any Japanese).

Please don't overload me on recommendations, I just need a few names of the really good ones you guys play.

Anyone else playing Vanguard Princess?

If I wanted to play a generic fighting game with cute girls, I'd play Melty Blood.

I'll try it on this machine when the netplay is working properly. Until then, there's no real point.

I tried playing, but since I was never really good at fighting game, I kinda stopped. Why are they so hard?! I can't find any rhyme or reason to the thing. Even button-mashing takes me nowhere... orz

It's fun I guess, but it feels lacking somehow. I did like everything in the game in an hour. I thought it was easy.

Well, to put it into perspective, I'm really bad in this game genre.

I don't really like it. I prefer airdashes, super jumps... freer movement, in general.

What the hell, guys?
I beat the "story" mode with one of the girls by just mashing and spamming the one super I figured out. Fightan vs CPU isn't that tough.

Abuse the Russian's pile bunker, it stuffs most attacks and her butt slap is good too. The archer whore and the one with the guns and big tits are probably good too for just shooting the AI to death.

I beat the game with the first girl, the one with the big wooden sword-ladle, with the loli with battle-wings.

By mashing strong attack. And then I found out I unbound the down button, that was why I couldn't do any special moves.

Haha. You're not making a lot sense, but I'll take into consideration. Surely, there'll be a Eureka moment and everything will start making sense. By the way, is there a skill list out there?

>> No.2914139,17 [INTERNAL]

>>2914139,16
Yes there is, someone posted it on /jp/ a few days ago. Too bad it's not translated.

>> No.2914139,18 [INTERNAL]

>>2914139,16

The skill list is a jpg in the game's folder, コマンド表.jpg in the マニュアル folder.

Oh! Now I see why I failed so hard. I didn't mash enough movement keys.

>> No.2914139,20 [INTERNAL]

I think this game is pretty cool, it's been a while since I've had so much fun with a 2D fighter. I'm not too good at myself though and button mashan doesn't take me too far in this game. Luckily there's a wiki being developed.

I see your low resolution sprites and raise you on IaMP.

You will want to download Holdover, fortune summoners, cave story, and then start looking around vector for other games.
