How is getting a deep intuition for spell cards not a change in mental state? And since spell cards are an expression of the casters' characters, you gain a deep understanding of Touhou and Eastern philosophy.

I know from experience(both mine and others') that you will start seeing danmaku pattern when you close your eyes and after enough time you will literally feel as if your dodging them yourself(moving your body slightly accordingly). You will later even start to dream about them and, depending on the game, you might honestly lose a bit of your sanity after seeing the same pattern over and over for hours on end. I would recommend anyone that's stuck on a particular spellcard to take a break at least every 6-8 hours.
