Is this scene supposed to make us link him to Shirou or what ?

Because I surely haven't seen Shirou smile like this.

More importantly, it's the first time you see him truly smile (also, it is near identical to smiling Shirou Sprite in HF)

He looks much better with his hair down.

What's the deal with Servants putting their hair up like a faggot ? Gil and Lancer did this too.

I don't really know if he is suppoused to look more like shirou there than in all the other pictures, but it is pretty much his first true smile ever.
It took him a whole lifetime + an eternity to first be able to smile.
Trust me, he actually is the most tragic person in the whole Nasuverse
Sakura, Arcueid and Saber got nothing on him who have lived through an eternity full of hellish shit.

>> No.2894560

>>2894445
You see Saber smiles in various occasion (even if she still has worries and burdens).
But a happy conclusion and people finding answers is as common in a story as it gets.

It's basic stuff, not special. You just also have to portray it in a way so it truly seems meaningful.

What's sad is that Archer does not get a happy conclusion, or even any answers.

A copy of Archer whom Archer will never remember gets answers and is able to be happy for all of 1 day.

The EMIYA who sits at the Throne of Heroes will never remember any of it.

Yep, Archer's pretty most the most tragic character in all of Type-Moon. At least Ciel ends up with Shiki and Arc and Sakura were happy for a time. Poor Archer just got used by everyone, manipulated and taunted, but he was okay by it. He was even HAPPY to be executed for something he didn't do.

Then he becomes the spirit of humanity's bitch to be dropped into Hell again and again. Nor does he get a happy ending.

Poor EMIYA.

He never realized it.

A temporally displaced copy of him realized it.

It promptly ceased to exist 24 hours later.

All that happened, the only thing that's changed, is that a single book describing the copy's revelation appeared in EMIYA's library.

... But that's one book, in a library of proportions infinite.

Nothing was changed, nobody received happiness. A story of happiness was written and stuffed into an immense, dusty library forever.

Wrong. Considering it's still Shirou we're talking about, one piece of proof that he wasn't wrong, even after everything he had been through, would be enough to return some of what he lost.

It's not salvation, but it's something.

I don't think he has a chocie what to read or not.
The problem is that is a tiny, shiny diamon in the pile of shit.
Though if I made an UBW movie, I'd show a final scene where Archer is summoned to do his usual cleaning as CG, and before he starts, ruffles his hair and lets it down, then proceeds(just to show that something got through DAMMIT).

>> No.2895048

>>2895034
Why do you think he only executes the plan in UBW?
It's because Rin sticks to Shirou (not really, but it's funny to consider it petty jealousy over his young self)

Well, I can only seeing it to be inevitable if he reads them faster than they come in.
If he gets books faster than he reads them, then his library will just grow infinitely.

>> No.2895075

'read' is metaphorical for 'acquiring the info', unless you imagined a Meta Libray with an Archer clad in student robes reading them one by one and drinking insane amounts of coffee to cope with the amount.

>> No.2895081

>>2895075

Same thing, even though I'll always have the visual image of a casual Archer wearing reading glasses amidst a pile of books in my head anyway.
Is acquiring the information instant? Does he just have to choose the data and instantly knows it? Is the only reason he doesn't absorb everything instantly because he's sick and tired of learning "killed 500 schoolchildren and 3 dark magi, saved 700 civilians from destruction"?

Questions which will probably never have answers.

>> No.2895096

>>2895081
The common mechanic(may not apply in the Nasuverse competely, but other cases of information transfer, synchronizing etc are depicted to be done instantly in the setting) usually is that one soul/mind gets all the info instantly.
And since most of them are similar, small exceptions do not affect the whole much.
Hence, Archer who went lifetimes cleaning up shit, finding the answer is 99,9~% inconsequential.

Think of it in terms of computers.

Imagine a servants memories as data (well information is data) and as Servants have infinite memories it would somewhat be the same as a hardrive with unlimited space.
Now the question is how much can fit into the servants RAM? And then you must also think of how hard it must be to find the information you want in the big pile of "infinity".
