2892366 No.2892366 [Reply] [Original]

Hello /jp/, I am rather a newbie around here and to visual novels/eroges in general, but after much playing over the last week and a bit I have completed all the paths in Tsukihime.

My favorite was easily the Tohno Akiha story, but my favorite character would have to be Satsuki Yumizuka because of her likable personality and tragic end.

I am about to start Kagetsu Tohya, so I wanted to ask you guys if this sequel is as good as the original? Do new characters appear?

Thanks.

>I am about to start Kagetsu Tohya, so I wanted to ask you guys if this sequel is as good as the original?

It's not a sequel. It's an after-game story involving all the originals in a more campy sequence, for the most part. There is an over-arching plot that makes it especially worth playing, though, and you find out so much about the characters.

>Do new characters appear?

Yes. Lots.

>> No.2892381

The storyline of Kagetsu Tohya is non-linear, which IMO makes it not as good. Yes, there are new characters.
Ren is love.

Yes I was wondering about that, what 'route' does it follow?

I found Kagetsu Tohya pretty fun and yes many new characters appear

i also enjoyed the other stories in it

It can be either, really.

id recommend playing the plus disc first before moving on to kagetsu tohya, it introduces a new character there which may leave you confused if you skip it.

>> No.2892586

It's more of a fan disc than a proper sequel so the story isn't in the same vein. If you like the characters it is definitely worth reading though. Especially for the delicious Ren.

>>2892544
This is true. I didn't know about the Plus Disc and went straight to Kagetsu Tohya. Not a good idea.

KT introduces you to Akira in such a way that you can figure out who she is / what her connection to Shiki is without too much confusion. Without too much confusion for me, anyway.

well I suppose that is true, non the less it's probably still a good idea to go over the plus disc first for extra content it has.

It's not like it ruins the game or anything, but when they started talking about Akira's history with Shiki I was wondering if I had missed something. It's certainly better to read Plus Disc first if you're able to.
