I don't get it. Isn't Bernkastel the Witch of Miracles?

Can't she find a kakera where Ange is taken to the Island even though she's sick?

Bern's argument is flawed, in my opinion.

>> No.2882575

If there's a world where Anges parents dragged her out to the island while she was sick they wouldn't be very close to the parents she knew at all, would they?

>> No.2882574

spoiler: Bern is a troll

>> No.2882579

Sick six year old girl is a bad piece. Why bring someone to just get murdered?

>> No.2882584

Ange is not a game piece and her sickness was before the whole two day long gameboard. Her family has decided that she can't go to the family conference in her current state before the third of October. So it's outside of the game board. Just like Kinzo, it cannot be changed no matter what.

>> No.2882585

It's not that she can't, she just doesn't want to.

>> No.2882619

And while we're at it, can someone explain me the difference between Lambadelta's magic of Certainty and Bern's magic of Miracles?

>> No.2882629

>>2882619
Certainty is overwhelming power and will, while Miracle is the power to find the best solution and having endurance.

>> No.2882640

>>2882619

I like to imagine Certainity is a shotgun to the face no questions asked while Miracles is a sneaky motherfucker who waits for an opening and then gouges the shit out of it

>> No.2882649

>>2882619

Certainty is being absolute in victory.
Basically, spinning a roulette wheel where all possible landing options are "26, black", then betting on it.

Miracle is getting what you want even if the odds are nearly impossible.
Basically, spinning a roulette wheel with ten billion different landing spaces and putting it all on 26, black.

>> No.2882655

>>2882629
So, Lambda's certainty is only 99,999999% certain, and Bern has the power to find that 0,000001%, right? That's more or less what I understood from the first four episodes, but I wasn't sure.

Now I think I finally get the whole :

Endless > Miracle > Certainty > Endless

Bern just won because she was allowed to cheat.

>> No.2882680

>>2882649
That's a nice analogy. Would Endless be the ability to spin the roulette as much as you want until you win?

>> No.2882681

Miracle and Endless sounds the same to me somehow. Can't see how Certainty > Endless.

Miracle - repeat it until you get the desired outcome that is almost impossible.

Endless - repeat it as long as you want.

>> No.2882696

>>2882680

Miracle reverses. To the external viewer, the Miracle wielder only spun the wheel once.

How the hell does Miracle > Certainty, but Endless != Certainty then?

>> No.2882732

>>2882681
Think about miracle as 1. You can go with your 1 against 1000000 and even if it seems pointless, you do have a chance of victory, because it doesn't cover all possibilities. It's coming against you with one strong, incredibly strong power. On the other hand, the endless has only 100000, but it's dividing this big number to little parts, so even if you are facing a less powerful enemy, it covers all square in the board and you can't move and can't look out without being found and killed instantly. If your 1 beats of the 100's, there is still 99900 possibilities against you.

>> No.2882741

Bern's power is that she will eventually win as long as the chance of winning isn't 0% It's because she can retry infinitely. Even if the chance is 0.00000000000000000001% she'll keep going until she wins.

>> No.2882755

That should be true for Endless as well isn't it. She can repeat it as long as she wants.

>> No.2882806

Guys, the power of Endless doesn't have anything to do with "tries".

Endless is just DO IT AGAIN!

Miracle has a desired outcome and will go for it.

Endless is just ANOTHER ROUND!

As such, it beats Miracle. Even if Miracle gets its outcome, Endless just shouts for another round.
Certainty beats Endless because Endless will never win, normally. The only thing that will allow it to win is a Miracle, a different set of magic.

>> No.2882810

>>2882775
Basically, Certainty uses always moves in a way that has the highest chance of success, regardless of the opponent's actions. Endless uses a lot of tactically pointless moves to throw the opponent off track.

It's easier to create a miracle under the right circumstances if you know what going to happen.

It's like you're playing a game of Chess and your side only gets pawns.

if the other side does the same thing over and over and over and over you'll win eventually because you'll know what they do before they do it.

But if your opponent is random about it then there's less chance of winning because they still have a crushing advantage.

>> No.2882825

>>2882806
How does Certainty > Endless then
If Endless can just always shout ANOTHER ROUND!!

So that eventually Certainty of 99.999% will lose.
Sounds to me like..
Endless > Miracle > Certainty here. doesn't form the loop.

>> No.2882831

>>2882806
I think I get it now.

Certainty fires an almost perfect bullet, but Mircal can, after trying again and again, find a way to counter it (that's the "miracle").

Endless fires a new bullet each time, so miracle can't find the way to counter it.

>> No.2882840

wouldn't that mean even if Battler WIN, Beatrice can just do 'another round'? lol

>> No.2882842

>>2882825

Because no matter how many rounds pass, Endless loses. So long as a Miracle does not occur, another round is futility.
While playing with Miracle, Endless has a chance to win and a chance to lose.

It's all a game of patience on every side.

In which case shouldn't endless be able to achieve it at some point as well if the possibility is not 0.

Unless ofcourse I was wrong about Miracle and that it can do the impossible.

I think I'll use visual novels as an analogy.

Lambdadelta pretty much sets it up so that if you screw up even once, you're locked onto the route that leads to a BAD END.

Beato pretty much switches the flags that leads to different routes, so you have no idea if you're going to the route that you want.

Bern uses save states to try and get the perfect game. As long as she has memory, she can reload the game every time she screws up until she can get her desired ending.

Certainty is winning 100% of the time.
Miracles are able to continue trying to achieve something as long as it doesn't have a 0% chance of occurring.

I believe the only way that Bern was able to beat Lambda because the latter allowed Bern to put her pieces wherever she wanted, so she surrounded Lambda's king with all queens (or essentially something like that). Otherwise, it never would've happened.

I was trying to remember exactly what was said then. They used Battler's chess board analogy, with Lambda winning every game until the last one. Once again, IIRC Lambda got bored or something and let Bern load her side with good pieces, allowing her to grasp the miracle and win.
