"It's really not that hard to figure out if you know the first thing about narrative. The entire point of Ange's arc was to become aware of a magic that was not LOL DELUSIONS and escaping reality. Ange explicitly rejected magic and anti-mystery for that exact reason, you really think she'd turn around at the very end and go "lol nvm i love delusions"? Ange's scene on the island versus Kasumi on the Stakes was not an escape from reality, it was an empowerment. It was presented through us through a fantasy lens not because Ange was "delusional", but because she was consciously presenting that interpretation to Kasumi in order to make her point.

Ange was meant to be an admirable figure who figured out something critical about the nature of witches and magic. That's why she was able to save Battler, and that's why she was able to kick Beatrice's ass and destroy her Golden Land when Battler managed to do jack **** against Beato for four straight games. Thinking you were meant to come away from Ange's story saying "lolol Ange is ****in delusional" is, dare I say it, the real delusion.

The people who keep running to "IT'S A DELUSION!!!11" are nearly as bad as the anti-mystery concept to begin with. Battler RAGE'D, and we were meant to agree with him, because the cousins' submission to fantasy meant they stopped thinking. Writing everything off as DELUSIONS is a lazy way to convince yourself you're "winning" while doing the exact same thing. "

"Delusion" is different from "interpretation". I don't really give a flying fuck about whether fireball-shooting type magic is literally true or not, though it's pretty obvious at this point that it isn't. Maria and Beatrice's black magic *is* about "delusion", running from reality to escape pain.

I'm not really trying to look at the worldview; I'm merely saying that "LOL DELUSIONS" is still valid as long as they acknowledge the way Ange uses her "magic" and that more people "get it" than you seem to think. Tricking implies harm to the one being tricked, but that's not necessarily true. Just the fact that it is a fanciful way of viewing things makes it a delusion, by definition; I'm not assigning any good or bad to it. And Ryukishi07 keeps things ambiguous with the gunshot and Ange's possible death in the credits, so I don't think he is going to come down as strongly as he did with Higurashi's view of friendship.
