How many fans are out there that actually stick through every incarnation of a story? I'm talking about beyond just the animu and mango.

I'm sure there are some out there that have gone through (Light)novel -> Drama CD(probably just suppliment material for this one) -> VN -> Mango -> Animu/OVA

What's your take on seeing the same thing happen in a new medium? Is it boring? Is it usually different enough to keep you interested?

Archer?

More like GARcher, amirite.

I've never done it before. I don't really feel the need to read/watch something if I already know what happens.

>> No.2877206

Yeah, I've never done it before either. Usually there seems to be a definitive medium which outshines the rest. More often than not it's whatever the first incarnation is.

>> No.2877214

Personally I don't care about what OP is talking about.

Can we turn this into a F/SN/Archer thread yet?

>> No.2877226

I've seen a few VN-based anime which I've read the VN of, and of course seen many anime based on manga I've read, but I don't think I've ever done three mediums.

>> No.2877241

I used to do it, even for series I don't like that much (for example ZnT). It usually kept me interested enough but I realized that it would still be better to spend that time watching or reading a new series.

What's being described here is some sort of super level Otaku, who's mere existence could would endanger the world.

>> No.2877316

I'm sure tons of people have moved to an anime of a manga they were reading, but starting with a light novel is pretty difficult, since they generally aren't translated unless there's an adaption already out that stirs it's popularity.

For most adaptations, I don't usually read or watch them anymore. I just collect them.

And then someday, months or years after, when I am bored and I kind of forgot the story already, I try the adaptations.

The only exception where I went through every media I could find was CLANNAD.

>> No.2877681

It kind of sucks when everything else is untranslated.
And if it's a faithful adaption, then I'd probably get bored depending on what I enjoyed about it.

I've done it for Shana, but that's also because Shana is love~ I still prefer the light novels though over the anime and manga but anyone would really. The anime's main draw factor is Kugimiya Rie voicing her.

J.C. Staff ruins everything.

>> No.2878038

I learned to look past the butchering of the novel and all of the filler/original garbage created by the director, primarily in the second season this was a problem and it also messed things up for continuing from the light novels, and I just focus on Shana. She alone is enough to get me through the series with a smile on my face.

I would respond with Hayate S2's glorious adaption, but that's /a/ material.

Hinagiku, Utena, etc.
