Do you remember when /jp/ was good?

>> No.2872189

It's time to find a new home, one where you can actually eject the refuse.

>> No.2872204

There are no good places on the internet anymore.
The only choice is to lower your standards.

/jp/ was good until the beginning of 2009, then...

The exact time of /jp/'s downward slide was the first wave of bans following YWUIG.

From then there has been a flood of newfaggotry, and since then nothing has been the same. For better, or worse.

>> No.2872801

When /jp/ was created 4chan had already gone to the shitter.
So, no, /jp/ was never good.

>> No.2872803

>>2872441
We just say that because that's when we found 4chon, though, most of us (I assume).
I'm sure it's subjective, and was shitty that year as well (and even before then, probably).

The bans came from FUIG, not YUWIG.

>> No.2872833

Not BECAUSE of YWUIG, but following.

During the writebro's interactive board VN, no one was banned and /jp/ truly experienced a Golden Age.

Lucky me, I came around exactly at that time. Too bad it wasn't going to last.

/jp/ is meant to be such a collection of leftover topics that anyone should be happy enough to find the threads that interest them and call those home.
From the start there was a toleration for whatever you didn't like, anonymous in /jp/ knew how to ignore and let anyone have their fun as long as it didn't surpass the rest. Except at critical times, every topic remained holed in its single thread.
The board flows, there are rushes of topics depending on the time of the year. Touhou around reitaisai, visual novel discussion whenever a new project was released, and so on.
The low speed made it a good place to post, with a high enough signal to noise ratio.

I'm afraid that whatever has changed in this last year was the 'take it easy' attitude and the evermore hostile reaction to topics beyond the shrinking possible topic pool. As a result, we're growing stagnant.

That's how I see it. Things are not so bad for now, and I'm proud to be part of this board whenever I see threads and posts that acknowledge opinions as being subjective, that there is no higher ground, and the true meaning of sage. I still have fun in here with you, but at the same time wonder how long can this last if we keep it this way.

What kind of code uses {curly braces} instead of the traditional [bbcode] and <html> braces?

>> No.2872942

>>2872929

I can't really tell if your trolling is simply mentioning KS or trying to do BBCode or what.

At either rate, you should work on it.

>> No.2872951

>>2872929
It only brought to the surface the rampant elitism and xenophobia of the /jp/ inhabitants. KS wasn't what has brought down /jp/, the irrational response was.
And I will point out the obvious, bold tags are bold, although it only works on the archive and with client side scripts. Worthless.

No board on 4chan ever was good, but /jp/ has entered a particularly bad tailspin as of late.

It'll pick up again at some point. I blame Mootykins for it, not the users. It's usually Mootykins's fault if a board starts to suck.

Bump!

Merely stating fact that {b}Katawa Shoujo{/b} Devs pretending to be anon posting shitty thread usually accompanied by {b}Katawa Shoujo{/b} images or simply mentioning {b}Katawa Shoujo{/b} to attentionwhore their shitty japanese wannabe game and feed their fucking egos. And what have you done to prevent this - nothing. I'll make sure to remind /jp/ of this fact. {b}Katawa Shoujo{/b} is shit period. /jp/ was a good place to raise a family before those gaijin hoodlums appear.
